The student plaza swarmed with people. Milan, Yasmeen, and Taylor was in the middle of the plaza dancing to the music that was played by the DJ. Ever so often they would have to move to let the sororities and fraternities stroll but once they were finished, they were right back at it.
Milan felt a pair of arms wrapping around her waist and looked up, she cracked a smile once she saw that it was Davon. After the party was over, Davon made sure to explain to Milan that Zoey was somebody that he seen as a sister.
She helped him with his schedule and navigating university life since he is a first generation student. Milan understood and told him about the history that she had with her, and that included Sean. Though Davon wasn't comfortable with Milan being so close to Sean, he agreed that they could have their friendship.
He trusted Milan.
"Hey bighead." Milan smiled and let Davon plant a kiss on her lips.
"It's the PDA for me." Taylor laughed as she eyed the two.
"For me too, but let's mind our business." Yasmeen added.
"Yes please, mind y'all's business for once. I'll be back." Milan stated while taking Davon's hand, the two walked through the crowd.
"Hey Milan." Milan heard a voice call and stopped when she noticed it was Deon she smiled and wave.
Sean was right beside him but said nothing as he glanced at Milan then Davon, he gave them a small head nod before turning his attention back toward the crowd.
Milan found it weird and figured she would talk to him about it later. The two continued their walk until they were free from the crowd.
"Oh my god, there's a lot of people out here today." Milan chuckled as she crossed her arms.
"It is, you're looking good today too. Let me find out." Davon studied Milan from head to toe.
"You don't look too bad yourself, I also took some pictures earlier. I'll show you them later since you're an expert."
"Nah, not at all. I bet they look good, but I'll catch you later alright? Me and the boys are about to go off camp right quick. You need anything."
Milan shook her head no, "Okay, bring it in."
The two hugged and Davon walked off leaving Milan alone. Milan stuck both hands into her back pockets and looked back into the crowd until she met the back of Sean's head.
After the plaza party Sean was hot and ready to go inside to take a shower. Him and Deon walked alongside each other to head back to their dorm.
"Why do you look like you just lost your best friend." Deon asked as he studied his Sean.
"I'm good."
"Are you trying to convince me or you?" Deon laughed, "You didn't even vocally greet Milan.. and her new man."
"Deon, I'm not in the mood for jokes right now. I'm just hot." Sean eyed Deon.
"You sound worse than Taylor when she's mad. Listen, the best way to get your girl back especially if she's up under another guy is to do something special for her."
"Special like what? I can't buy her a diamond ring."
"I don't think Milan would care about all of that. Do something special and thoughtful. Something you wouldn't do for another female."
Sean instantly thought about flowers.
"And please don't get anymore flowers. You already did that."
Sean rolled his eyes, "You don't know me. Shut up."
Meanwhile Milan, Yasmeen, and Taylor were in Yasmeen's room. They were now eating the food they had gotten from the food trucks in the plaza.
"I think my mom is going to come down for the football game." Milan stated before taking a bite of her burger.
"Oh, she's an alumni? So is my mom." Taylor said.
"Are you going to let her meet Davon?" Yasmeen asked, she was scrolling through Netflix trying to find a movie or show to watch.
"I don't know, should I? I wasn't even thinking about that."
"No."
"Yes."
Milan looked between the two girls waiting on an explanation.
"Why are you saying no Yas? Davon's a nice guy. I think him and Milan is going to go far."
"Because.. they weren't even dating that long. I know how it gets when men meet the parents. They start getting comfortable for one, like they're locked in. For two, I think Milan still loves Sean."
Milan gasped loudly at Yasmeen's last statement.
"You know what, you're right." Taylor stated while pointing her finger at Yasmeen.
"That's not true, I think love is too strong. Sean and I agreed to be friends for the sake of my relationship. Sean had his chance guys."
"Relationship? Did Davon even ask you to be his girlfriend the correct way?" Yasmeen asked.
Milan rolled her eyes at Yasmeen.
"I'm just asking girl."
"With Davon I don't have to wonder if I'm the only one. He loves on me in public and in private, to me we're together because I actually feel like it."
"So what was the difference with Sean? Why were you hounding him?"
"What is your issue?" Milan asked, she was genuinely confused on why Yasmeen was taking up for him.
"My issue is that Davon magically popped up and just happened to know Zoey, and as of that isn't enough he claims her as a sister." Yasmeen expressed.
"You were all for Davon Yas." Taylor intervened.
"Before I found out Zoey's conniving ass had ties to him."
"I don't think Davon is like that. Can you please just just support me?" Milan asked.
"Of course Mil, I will but if I found out that Davon is up to no good. I'm knocking all his shit over."
"Ugh, why didn't you come with a warning label." Milan laughed.
"Do you think she would like it?" Sean asked Deon as he looked down at the basket he had put together.
"She better, or I'll take it." Deon joked.
Sean smacked his lips as he placed the bouquet of yellow flowers into the basket. He knew that Milan liked the color yellow and decided to fill a basket with goodies that were that color.
"You just had to add the flowers in huh?"
"Mind yours, Milan loves every flower I give her."
Deon just shook his head, "Alright, so when are you going to give it to her."
"I don't know, I'll have to see."
