22. Mission sabotage

Bratt needed some help to make his excellent work fluently. For this, he involved Eduardo and the Overkill couple on this. They all know what hurts Gru the most, his precious girls. The best way to get near them is far off his house and what place was there? That's right...their school. There is a lot of damage they could do there and all behind Gru's back. The next step afterwards is also planned through. Vector had some extra information about the girls, that they could use to their advantage.

Before school starts, they pretended to be parents, observing the area in disguise.

Eduardo is a little confused on what they were doing, "Why don't we strike now? Why all this observation?"

Bratt clicked his tongue, "We need our roles to play. Eduardo, you can be the janitor, he looks a lot like you." Indeed he does, his appearance was almost like him. With a mask and make up, he can take over his job.

Scarlett found her character on her own, Margo's teacher, while Herb takes Edith's teacher.

The last one to take was the male assistant from Agne's teacher, this was Brett's target.

Thrilled about their new roles, Evil Bratt announced that they will begin the mission the next day. I watched my minions doing their masks, while I was completely useless at that time...something I haven't felt for a long time. Vector didn't get any information on AVL, at least not what I already know."Keep up the good work Vector." "Shadow, why should they sabotage the girls life? That won't give you your job back."

"Oh it will."

Vector looks confused, "How?"

"I use an old friend of them... A certain Miss Hattie."

The young villain remembered, as the girls were selling cookies from the orphanage. I took the mask of her face up and smiled leased, "She is the one that can take away his girls...that is if he isn't capable to take good care of them. He might need an extra person to support him...and that person...will be me."

"I don't think that her words alone are enough to take them away."

I chuckled, pointing at the other masks, "But with the voices of their teachers, she certainly has enough."

Before Vector went back to his PC, I gave him a DVD, "Try this one, it breaks every firewall their is."

"And passwords?"

I patted his head amused, "All in good times, just give the other one a try."

Back in Gru's house, the magazines covered the entire living room. Lucy returned from her shift, as she spotted the mess, "What are you doing here? It's three in the morning."

"Hi honey. My laptop broke down, so I went through the villain magazines to find something about Shadow. How was work?"

"Not so good, the colleagues won't talk to me...and my new partner is an idiot."

"And Dru?"

She shook her head, "He is afraid of getting locked up for what happened."

"That's why we have to hurry" roaming through the pages, he didn't see his wife's concerned face. There is something else she had to tell him, "Valerie sends me away for a week."

"What?! Can't you cancel the trip? This is really important."

"If I want to keep my job I have to. What should I do Gru?"

This was bad, really bad. But he sticks to his word, "Go, I can handle it."

"Sure, with the babysitter it will be fine."

"Yeah...sure" he couldn't tell her the truth.

Lucy kissed her husband good night and packed her bag as soon as possible, her flight goes in three hours. Gru held his head and leaned back in his chair, worried of what lies ahead of him for an entire week. Dr. Nefario was too old to take care of the girls and the minions need a sitter on their own. Above it all, he threw my number away...this was a disaster. Hours of research, he took a break and went over to the kitchen. Lucy joined him soon after with her luggage, "A week isn't long, I will be back before you know it." If only you knew, he thought. Sharing one last kiss she left him alone, "Love you!"

"Love you too, honey!"

The minute the door was shut, his smile dropped, "Love you too."

Back at my place, Vector smiled wide at his result. Only for me to frown. He find out about the previous head of the AVL was none other than...Silias Ramsbottom. I moaned out, "I know that for years! Nothing else to add?!"

"No, nothing."

Annoyed and frustrated I kicked the couch, and the remote fell to the floor. By accident, it turned on the news channel. My eyes got wide, as an idea came to my head, "Who said that the information have to be true?"

"I can't follow you Shadow."

"Vector, how are your acting skills?"

"Pretty good...why?"

I face the TV once more, " I think we have to spread the news ourselves. Ask Bratt for support, we will have a lot to do to make this one work." My idea was brilliant, "I always wanted to make an entrance on TV, well...not in person." The media will be the perfect tool to humiliate the organization. And who will they blame? Another idea came to mind, I am sorry Dru...but I can't just leave the stage just yet. I hope you don't mind sticking your head out for me." Evil Bratt came out from his bedroom, in his pyjama, "We are ready for tomorrow." "Excellent, make sure that it gets as bad as possible" my plan was to see my own role for tomorrow. Snipping my finger, Bratt got the item I wanted, giving me the mask of Miss Hattie, "Oh I will enjoy this."

The slender man was leaving me be, as I called him, "Bratt, one more thing."

He turned around to face a scary grin of mine, "I wish you all the fun you can get."
