The family was all ready to go...until one main problem came up: The girls have to go to school.

And apart from that, since Lucy and Gru are back in the AVL, they have no one to babysit. Dru was also working as a villain, so there was no one around. There was no way Gru would let his minions do this job again. The last time the kitchen was on fire, because they tried some odd dish with bananas. There was no way around it, they needed a nanny.

On the other side of the road was I, sipping coffee while going through the newspaper. Not one job was there for me, that I could cover with my previous one. Carl came out and greeted me, "Morning N/A, how is the job search going?"

I shook my head, tossing the papers aside, "Not so good. Not one job I can do for a few hours. They are all full-time." Before I turned into a depressed state, I stood up and went towards the front of the house. "Where are you going N/A?" I sighted, "I am going to water the plants. Otherwise I die of boredom."

In the meantime, the girls were playing on the street. Edith and Margo were on their bicycles, while Agnes was drawing pictures on the sidewalk. Lucy was keeping an eye on them, sitting at the stairs of the house. From time to time I stared over to the girls. Agnes caught me looking and waved towards me...I waved back. At the distance I could see a car coming. Margo didn't seem to have noticed the vehicle, as she was driving in circles on the street. The car was way too fast, that I feared the worst. I dropped the hosepipe and ran towards Margo, knocking her off her bicycle. Everyone looked in shock, as the car past by the girl and I feel to the sidewalk. The little girl was concerned, not because we ruined her drawings, her sister was unconscious. "Oh no Margo!" screamed the woman before me. I gave her to the woman, while she carried Margo into the house. I stayed with the other two outside. "Thank you for saving Margo!" said the little girl with a big smile on her face. "Do you live over there?" asked the other one with blonde hair and a pink hat.

"Yes I do. I hope your sister is alright."

The blonde girl was inspecting me skeptically, "Who are you?"

I stared back at her, "I am N/A. And you are?" As casually I said my name, she did the same. Now I was aware of the girl's names and the name of the woman. Carl, who watched me from the windows now, came over to greet the girls. It was surprising for me to see him talk to his neighbors. He is normally the shy type. After a while Lucy came back out, thanking me for my help.

Instead of going back home, I decided to play with Agnes and Carl with Edith.

Lucy watched us, until she had an idea, "N/A right? You seem to get well with kids. Would you like to babysit?" I liked children, but babysitting was a whole new level, but before I could decline Carl screamed, "She be happy to do so!"

I tried to convince her that I was not a good candidate for this job, but she ignored it, "you can start tomorrow morning at seven and don't be late."

"Oh no she won't" assured Carl pushing me across the street.

"Have you lost it Carl? I don't even know them and I don't know how much money I get."

"It is better than nothing N/A. Just do it for a while, until you find something new, okay?" I hate to admit it, but he had a point. My savings are close from running out.

"Okay...I try my best."

On the other side, Lucy informed Gru about their new babysitter. The fact that she was a neighbor relieved Gru somehow. Although he hasn't met me, he believes that Lucy made the right decision. So this problem was sorted.

If only I knew what I got myself into!
