Bratt looked at me like I was retarded, just because I told him to leave me behind and call the AVL. What is so bad about that?

"They won't let you get away Shadow"

"It is a small price to pay for two legends. I will be fine."

He didn't want to go, but still, I am his boss, he has to take orders and obey them. The room were Horrific was locked in, has also turned quiet. I refused to take a look, in case it is a trap. If he is dying, then...bad luck I guess. I watched as Bratt used his jacket to fly out of this place. Now I had another mission to get to, find out their plans...and destroy them once and for all.

Or maybe more than that?

It seems that they took new hostages, leaving the cage hanging over a dark hole, who knows what lies under there. Gru and Dru watched, as an old man in a wheelchair came into the light, "You look so much like your father. It seems that you also inherited his mistakes as well."

"You're Wendigo, aren't you?"

The old man chuckled at Gru, "A bit slow on the information I see."

Dru wasn't as curious of who he was, "What are you planning?"

Wendigo wasn't a man that kept his intentions hidden, he was really proud to show everyone what he is capable of, "With the special 'terror of destruction', I shall destroy all systems in the world...the main ones as well as backups, leaving nothing but chaos in this world...that is the short version. Can you imagine it? A life without the artificial intelligence to support our daily lives, how wonderful does this sound?"

Dru frowned, "Villains steal, but you destroy...what is the point in that?"

Wendigo wasn't stupid; of course he had a motive behind this, "Underneath the mountain lies my new area of this world. Once the systems are destroyed, they will do anything for me to restore it, giving me unlimited power in this world. Who needs stealing, if they own the world at the end?" turning his backs to the brothers, he pulled a switch, that moved another item from the distance, right next to them. In another cage were the girls and Carl. Wendigo enjoyed the sight, of seeing Gru worried for the girl's well being, "Unfortunately, I don't need witnesses to ruin my fun. I just let you hanging there, till I find a better use for you."

"Not so fast Wendigo!"

He couldn't see me from the Shadows, pointing a gun at his head, "I would say it is game over for you, old man."

Wendigo didn't seem to be frightened by my actions, looking directly at the gun, "You don't shoot." distracted, eh pressed a button on his chair, where a mechanism pushed me off him. The gun fell out of my hands and down the huge hole. The old man grinned wide, "Thank you for coming Shadow, that way I don't have to waste looking for you."

Standing back up, I reached for the walking stick.

"Unlike Horrific, I am not as easy to defeat"

I looked back, "How do you know?"

He pointed all around him, "This is my headquarters, I see everything that happens in this place...in...and outside the mountain. It was clever of you to assemble an army to get in here, but battle won't be yours to win." Referring to the hostages, he pulled a switch, "Now then, shall we discuss your contract of being my henchmen my dear?" With wide eyes, I watched him pointing his own gun at the cages. I clenched my fists, "You rat!"

"I was called worse...now then, would be so kind to hand over Robert's treasure?"

I refused, at this point, he moved the end of the gun towards the girls, "I know how much they mean to you..." now it moved to Carl, "...or him. Who should be the first?"

He looked with delight, as I walked over to the computer, leaning my arm over the keyboard, "Just give me a minute. I am injured." Wendigo was not a fan of patience, "And I am in a wheelchair all my life. I give you five seconds to tell me"

My hand moved higher to the other places over the board, making a light blink. Rising up, I walked over to him, "If you want it so badly, you may have to get a scalpel."

"What?"

Lifting my hand up, I showed him my long scar on the wrist, "It is right here."

Wendigo couldn't believe it, "That is why it was never found, I didn't know he was this creative with his treasure." Throwing a knife over, he ordered me to get it out myself. He gave me a warning, by shooting passed one of the cages, "The next one won't miss."

Painful as it is, I did as he told me. The blood went down my hand, as the blade got deeper into the flesh. Dropping the knife, I had to remove the item with my own hands...showing some kind of chip. Wendigo was satisfied, "The terror of destruction...give it to me!" Slowly, I went over to the old man. Holding the piece towards him, he didn't see my other hand grab the gun, while one of my legs pushed his wheelchair towards the hole, to be save, Wendigo jumped out, holding him from falling. He had to see me crush the chip into pieces. The old man was devastated, "How could you do this?! My plan is ruined!" If it wasn't enough, I could have just let him there to die. Looking over to the cages, I sighted. I couldn't do this; I am a villain...not a murderer. I helped him up, running away was impossible for him anyway. He seems to be pleased by my good deed, now pointing another smaller gun towards my forehead, "You are weak Shadow. Never let your enemy live is one of the main rules of villainy."

"Villains don't kill, they steal."

Wendigo couldn't help but laugh at this, "What do you think did I become a legend by just stealing things. I had to destroy everyone in my path...even if they are villains themselves."

I raised my hands up, while he smirked wider, "You will never know how it feels to be the number one of villains."

"You may be right..." I said, pointing up, "...but I am not the number one legend behind bars."

"What?!"

BANG!

Thankfully, it wasn't his gun that shot...more the angels from above, hanging down from the ceiling.

"AVL, drop your weapons!"
