The evil shadow (Despicable me x reader)

1. The secret

It has been over a year, since Gru met his twin brother Dru.

Gru and Lucy are back in the AVL and Dru is trying his luck to be a great villain. He wants to keep the 'families' tradition' alive. Dru's butler Fritz is taking care of his estate in Freedonia, while he is spending his time with Gru's family. But because of the recent situation, they always fight about the traditions Dru is trying to fulfill. Gru had stopped his brother several times already and still he kept on trying. The only ones accepting Dru's decision are the girls.

It all changed as Gru's mother came to visit. She was surprised to see her other son, after all this time. But it all went back to normal, as Dru didn't live up to her expectation. The only thing she had to say to him was, "You look just like your father... not one of you got my good looks." Seriously, does she ever have something nice to say?

One day, they received a letter from a solicitor. Apparently their father, Robert Gru, had left a will for them. But what really got their attention, was the amount of people announced to show up. Gru got curious, "four people are named. Me, Dru, Fritz...and Shadow?" he looked towards his mother. It was clear she knew something; she was as white as a sheet. Suddenly, she mumbled something, "So he really did it."

"He did what mom?" demanded Gru.

She looked out the window of the living room, "Your father was a true villain, and in fact he was so evil, that he even kidnapped a child." Both of her sons wanted to know more about it. She sighted, "At the villain convention he never found reliable henchmen. I had hoped he would use his own son for that, but instead, he stole a child and trained it to become his henchman. He already had a name for that child, this was 'shadow'." She told them, that he had planned this ever since the boys were born.It also became one reason why they had divorced.

Dru was confused about it, since he had lived in the mansion his whole life. Not once did he see anyone besides his father. He didn't even know any henchmen he might have owned. The only one, who might know something about it, is Fritz. They decided to pay him a visit soon. The only one, who didn't want to get involved in this, was Gru's mother. She preferred to keep their agreement she made with Robert, on the day they went seperate ways.

For the rest of the family, was it another adventure...to meet a new member of the Gru family. Nothing Gru said could stop Lucy or the girls to come along, even the minions where in the mood to celebrate this new henchman. Dru already had plans to make shadow work for him. But first they have to find him.

They had no luck finding him at the solicitor though.

He refused to show up, denying anything Robert Gru left behind. And for that henchman was a lot to lose. Dru and Gru were stunned that almost 80% of the estate should go to that shadow. Since he didn't even bother to call, his interest goes to the next relative on the list: Dru. Gru got the half of the estate, as the other son of Robert. It was now fifty-fifty for them.

But Dru's main goal was to see that 'shadow'. Gru seems to be just as curious of who that might be, their only hint they had was the butler, "Lucy, girls...lets got to Freedonia!"
