Gru wanted to know everything, from the time I lived with his father, till now. As for me, I couldn't care less about it, not answering the main questions. Dru listened to our conversation, but stayed distant, not joining in. Neither of the brothers seems to have paid attention to their surroundings. It didn't get colder as expected, it got warmer. Only as an island came into view, Dru recognized it immediately, "Freedonia! Why are we here?"

I landed the flying car, while not answering the question.

Once I left the vehicle, I looked at the two, "I need some information from a reliable butler." Fritz was more than generous to help me out; despite for our previous visit had ended. He didn't say anything about the stolen goods or that I knocked him out, but something else seem to bug him ever since," Miss Shadow, why did you refuse the money?" I thought I told him before, just repeating my answer. Fritz shook his head, "It wasn't a reward or some kind of payment he left behind. Did the lawyer give you the letter?"

"What letter?"

The butler told me about a certain envelope that Robert gave him for safe keeping. Once he died, Fritz had to hand it over to his master's lawyer. Fritz kept a copy of the letter, pressing the paper into my hands, "You should really read this before you judge." Not really pleased to read something that this man wrote, I did it for the butler. He was eager for me to at least take one look at it. The information it held for me, was valuable as well as disturbing. For the biggest villain of all time, he sure knew how to write very emotional, nothing I every known from my previous boss. Not to tremble at the words, he also apologized for his way of treating me. In-between are lines, where I could have ripped that letter into pieces, but still, the next sentence got me curious once more. A line of several emotions went through me. I didn't even know what to think anymore. The reason he left almost all his money to me was to get out of the villain business and start living the life I always wanted. Also the reason he didn't want me to have his gadgets, was to prevent me to fall back to my old ways. It got even better, as he informed me about the invitation for the villain con. His last wish was for Fritz to get rid of the invitations. But then, how did I manage to get them anyway? The answer was also in the letter. The next page revealed all the plans from his last partners in crime. Horrific and Wendigo were at the top of the list, with the goal to get me as their henchmen and for the secret that lies under my skin. I cursed under my breath, while the butler looked concerned, "He never wanted you to live on like, he accepted his biggest mistake and tried to give you the freedom that you deserved."

"What does Wendigo and Horrific have to do with this?"

"They never gave up on that idea, not even while Robert was alive."

Still I couldn't accept it, "He hid me in his shadows, keeping me away from society, why should I ever forgive this devil for that?!"

Fritz looked worried, holding my hands tenderly, "He didn't want to hide you, but if he hadn't done so, you would have been in danger every single moment of your life."

"I don't understand."

"Every villain was after you at that time, but the legends even more. They know how ot track you down or making your life a living hell. To give you a little bit of safety, Robert left you in the dark. It wasn't because of his evil ways, it was to protect you." Being a protective man was nothing I could connect with my boss, he was more the egoistic type, as far as I could remember. But this didn't matter anymore. I offered Fritz a seat and told him about the plan at hand. Knowing the old butler, he would have fainted any time soon. "Fritz, the legends are holding hostages. They are people we care for deeply and they know it. Obviously it is a trap for me, but I didn't see any other way to stop them." For the butler, that needed a minute to find his breath again, had an idea, "Robert left something in his lab, something you didn't take with you." Curious, I watched him get the item he spoke of. I raised a brow at the small notebook, "Of wow, what an idea this is."

"Don't judge too soon, it has all the connections you need to defeat the legends."

"Connections? I thought villains work only under a small amount of people...never trust anyone he said."

The butler told me, that this was only a rule to me, so no one could tell the legends about me. These contacts are all villains all over the world, some were still working and others stopped their careers for several reasons, none then less, they all would help out Robert...no matter what. Fritz looked at me with a caring smile, "They knew of your existence, but not who you are. Assemble as much villains you can gather and fight your last battle to freedom."

"Fritz, they might know Wendigo and Horrific and what do you mean last battle?"

He got up from his seat, bowing slightly, "They are all on the black list that is only for those who hate the legends, apart from Robert and you mind. As for the last battle, I will be waiting for your arrival...as the next master of this house. I will be honored to serve you to the very end, as your faithful butler Miss N/A."

As much as I liked the idea of living in peace, it is not that simple for me to accept, "I think about it Fritz, thank you. But first, we have to go to war. Let the battle begin."
