Noah Narration:
(The chapters are just gonna Get longer so I have spit them up into parts)As I stood there for a moment beside my bike, As Amelia rode her bike off. I was startled it had happened again: the thing I thought of now as "seeing beyond" this time it had been Amelia hair who had undergone that fleeting indescribable change.
As I looked up and towards her riding her bike away . It happened again, she changed. Actually it wasn't just Amelia in her entirety. It seemed to be just her hair. And just that flickering instant.
I ran through it in my mind. It was clearly beginning to happen more often. First the red apple now Amelia hair? Frowning I walked into the Annex. I needed to ask the giver
The old man looked smiling as he saw me come in but I needed answers. As I hurried over next to him. He was already seated beside the bed and he seemed more energetic today. Slightly renewed and glade to see me.
"Welcome" he said "we must get started your one minute late"
As I was about to apologize I realized there was no apologizes.
"I'm one minute late because something happened" I explained
"And I like to ask you about it, if you don't mind""
After he gave me permission I continued
"I think it's what you call seeing beyond" sounding confused
The giver asking for details, I tried to explain it to my best of my abilities. First mentioning the apple then going onto just now.
"Then today just a minute ago, outside it happened again with my friend Amelia. She herself didn't change but for a second her hair looked different; but not in shape, not in its length. I can't quite explain. It changed I don't know how or why?!"
The old man asked me a question which seemed unrelated to the seeing beyond. He just asked about yesterday the sled with me replying yes.
The giver saying "when it happened to me, I experienced it, through it took a different form. Let me just make a little test to confirm my guess, lie down"
After debating I finally laid down as instructed. Closing my eyes waiting for the giver hands but it never came.
"Call back the memory of the ride on the sled. Just the beginning of it where you're at the top of the hill, before the slide starts and this time look down at the sled"
After he said that I was puzzled "don't you have to give the memory?"
"It's your memory now, not mine to experience any longer. I gave it away"
Still not understanding "but how can o call it back?"
"You can remember last year or the year when you were seven or five can't you? It's much the same. Everyone in the community has one generation memories like those. But now you be able to go back farther. Just concentrate"
Closing my eyes again taking a deep breath and sought the sled and the hill and the snow in his consciousness.
There they were with no effort. He was again standing in the whirling world of snowflakes.atop the hill.
Grinning with delight he did as he was instructed and looked down at the sled. The same mysterious quality that the apple had so briefly. Afterwards I opened my eyes.
