Today I decided to bring it up and ask "Giver? Don't you have a spouse? Aren't you allowed to apply for one?"
Although I was exempted from the rules against rudeness, I was aware that this was a rude question but the giver had encouraged all his questions, not seeming to be embarrassed or bothered by even the most personal.
He just chuckled "No there no rule against it. And I did have a spouse. My former spouse now lives with the childless Adults"
When adults became older, their lives became different. They were no longer needed to create family units. When me and Lily are grown our parents would go live with the childless Adults.
