Chapter 3 Rook?! Rook?! Rook!!!!

Rook walked along in the walls of the castle. Rook was tired and was all alone and very lonely. He wondered when he would get more visitors. It always felt so good when he got visitors. It gave him someone to talk to. Someone to listen. Someone to be with and not be lonely.

"I am sorry. I am just so sorry. I didn't mean to cheat. I drowned, and I am all alone. I am suffering a cursed fate because of my foolishness. Please, if someone can hear me, please save me from this dreadful punishment. I shall be a better servant and a better object. I humbly ask to be pardoned from this terrible punishment."

Shelly and Shieldy waited until it was dark, and everyone had gone back to their homes. They didn't want to strike when everyone was around. They could get caught!

Shieldy was ready to pounce on the opportunity of a lifetime. To unfreeze Rook and get answers and become famous. But Shelly, on the other hand, was not as ready. She was very reluctant and scared.

"Are you sure this is such a good idea? We don't even know for sure that Rook can be saved even if we do revive him.", she said. Shieldy rolled his eyes. "Of course, this will work. Just trust me.", he said before leading the way. Shelly simply followed.

Rook's frozen body was on display in a cylinder freezer, just like the ones that were used to freeze the eliminated contestants during the Brawl of the Objects game.

Shieldy and Shelly approached the contestant and saw him up close.

What a wonder it was.

Rook's frozen body was kept inside a museum. Shieldy and Shelly managed to break into the museum by going through the vents. (They were small enough to crawl through the passageways.) And with that, they managed to find the glowing blue cylinder capsule keeping Rook contained.

"OK, uh, now that we found the contestant, what do we do now?", asked Shelly.

Shieldy smiled. "We deactivate the cylinder to free the block of ice, then we grab the ice block, crawl back through the vents, and make it back to my house. We will unfreeze Rook in my bathtub and help him. Hot Dog actually got wind of my plan, but instead of scolding me, he actually wanted to help. So, he is waiting for us at my house to help us unfreeze Rook. Now, help me find out how to deactivate this thing.", he ordered.

Shelly looked all around, looking for a button or switch or something to deactivate the cylinder.

No luck.

Shieldy continued to look around as well. Suddenly, Shelly found a big red button on a console. It was probably what they were looking for.

"I found a red button. Do you think this is it?", asked Shelly. Shieldy approached Shelly and looked at the button. "It must be it, let's press it.", he replies.

Shelly pressed the button, and sure enough, the cylinder retracted, releasing the block of ice and, in turn, the frozen Rook.

Then, suddenly, without warning, loud sirens and alarms went off! Along with flashing red lights! Buzzers went off, making quite a loud noise. Shelly and Shieldy were shocked and scared. They had to run! And they had to run fast!

"Oh, no!", said Shelly. "Let's get outta here!", shouted Shieldy. "I am way ahead of you, Shieldy!", replied Shelly as she took off running. Shieldy pushed the ice block in front of him as he too, took off running.

Luckily, since it was ice, it slid on the floor, making it easy to push and maneuver.

They made it back to the vent and not a moment too soon as security guards began to run back to the main area of the museum! Right where Shelly and Shieldy were! "Uh, Shieldy, we got company!", shouted Shelly. Shieldy looked over saw that Shelly was right. "Uh-oh!", Shieldy exclaimed as he tried... and failed to push the ice block through the vent opening. "Ahh! The contestant can't fit through! We need another way out and fast!", he exclaimed.

Unfortunately, things were getting worse as the security guards made their way into the museum and found Shieldy and Shelly with the frozen ice blocked contestant!

"Freeze and put your hands in the air!", shouted one of the guards as he pointed a pistol at the duo.

"Ahh! They are going to get us!", shouted Shelly. Shieldy wasn't going to give up so easily, though. Shieldy found an open window that was forgotten to be closed.

"This way, this way!", shouted Shieldy as he grabbed Shelly and pushed the ice block towards the open window.

"Get back here, where do you think you are going?!", yelled another guard.

Soon, there was an intense chase as Shieldy pushed the ice block and carried Shelly as he ran as fast as he could, while being chased by angry security guards! Not to mention, they had their guns drawed and were ready to shoot!

"Last chance, stop and put your hands up!", shouted the first security guard. Shieldy understandably didn't do anything of the sort.

"They are gaining on us!", shouted Shelly. "Not for long!", replied Shieldy as he tossed the ice block and Shelly through the window. "Ahhhhhh!", screamed Shelly as she was thrown through. Shieldy jumped through the window and grabbed Shelly, and pushed the ice block along the ground as he ran far away into the forest.

The security guards were forced to stop as they could only watch helplessly as they saw Shieldy, Shelly, and the frozen contestant disappear into the night. Out of their grasp. Out of their sight.

"So, who's going to tell the boss?", asked one of the guards, breaking the momentary silence. "NOT IT!", all of the security guards said in unison at the same time.

"Oh, great.", the aforementioned guard moaned.

Later, after Shieldy determined that they were safe and that no one was coming after them, he decided to put Shelly down and stop pushing and rest. Especially after a harrowing ordeal at the museum.

"*sigh* That was close. Real close!", said Shieldy as he wiped his forehead with his arm. Shelly sighed as well before gaining her composure again. "Yeah, but I just hope we don't ever have to do that again! That was very scary!", she lamented.

"Don't worry, Shelly, we won't have to. Besides, the worst is behind us now. Now, come and help me push the ice to my house.", he said. Shelly obeyed.

After what seemed like forever, but in truth it was only about 5 minutes, Shieldy and Shelly arrived with the very special cargo.

Upon entering the house, Shieldy was greeted by Hot Dog...

... and EVERYONE ELSE!

"What the...? What's everyone doing here, Hot Dog?", asked Shieldy in shock.

"Sorry, Shieldy, I tried to keep this a secret, but Pizza pushed me into confessing when I accidentally let it slip that I was helping you with something risky. And Pizza told everyone else and now... well..., you know the rest.", he confessed meekly as he gestured to everyone in the living room.

Pear spoke up.

"Shieldy, what are you thinking?! That stupid chess piece was pesturing Scissors while we were in the Dream World!"

"Yeah, Shieldy, I don't want anything to do with this weirdo if he wakes up. It was such a pathetic drag dealing with this idiot who wouldn't go away and leave me alone!", Scissors chimed in.

Shieldy sighed. "I know you guys have concerns about this. But, please believe me when I say that this contestant deserves to be free. And we need to understand more about him. So, come on! Help me unfreeze him!", he shouted to plead.

Reluctantly, everyone agreed.
