"Just watch, in a couple minutes or by time tomorrow you're going to blow up on social media," Cassie tried to tell me and I just rolled my eyes.
"Hey!" We both looked back but I didn't look back fast enough because Cassie turned me right back around and started to walk faster. "Who was it?"
Suddenly we were grabbed by our back packs and stopped. "Aw, are you really running away from me? Did I make a bad first impression sweetheart?"
Sweetheart.
"Zac?" I questioned like didn't already know. He winked at me and put his arms around the both of us. "Nice to see you again Cassandra," he teased. "Again?" I repeated looking at Cassie.
"I told you to stop calling me that!" She complained and moved his arm away. "No need to be mean, all I said was hi," he smiled.
"Again?!" I repeat again because clearly they didn't hear me the first time.
"Can you get your arm off of Amanda!" She yelled and he put his hands up listening to her. "Okay okay, I didn't know I'd cause such a commotion," he said but then looked at me. "Speaking of commotion," he gave a small smile.
"Speaking of commotion," I mocked. "Can you answer my fucking question?!" I asked for the third time because clearly they had ear wax in their ears.
"About what?" He asked putting his hands in his pockets. "What do you
mean, 'nice to see you again?' Is it like some secret behind it?""Why does there have to be a secret behind it?" Cassie asked. "Oh, I mean-,"
"You're right," Zac interrupted. "There is a secret between us, but you being her best friend, I don't know why she didn't tell you." I looked at Cassie who was ready to hear this also.
"She wanted me,"
"What?!" We both said simultaneously, but her more in a "you're a liar" kind of way and me in a "I'm just playing along kind of way." (Yes, I knew he was lying).
"It's true, but I didn't want the package of jealousy that came with her. So I let her go,"
"Why were you jealous Cass?" I asked her. "Me? Must be some other Cassie,"
"Cass?" He repeated. "Sounds like-,"
"Don't you dare," Cassie stopped him.
Zac and I looked at each other then back at Cassie. He's probably debating on whether or not he should really say it. If I were him I'd be tempted to too.
"Assss," Cassie started raising her hand to slap him. "tray," he smiled. If you could picture a facial expression that went with the word what, that's what it looked like on Cassie's face. "Asssstriod..." We waited to see if he was going to say another one.
"Ass," he said quickly and hid behind me. "Hey!" Cassie yelled and tried to get him by running around me, but Zac kept moving me around so Cassie could face me instead of him.
"Come from behind her you chicken!" She yelled and continued to run around trying to fake going one way and sprinting to the other, but it wasn't working.
"Okay guess stop!" I said shaking myself off him. "You guys are children," I said to myself.
"He's the childish one!" Cassie pointed. "Says the child," he said under his breath and was hit by Cassie on the arm.
"Happy now?" I asked. Cassie crossed her arms. "What a heck of a year it'll be,"
"I don't know about you, but I'm actually excited about this year," Zac stated. "And why is that? Is it because of the girls?" Cassie asked.
"Well yeah, but the parties too. By the way, don't come to another of my parties again, you're such a buzz kill,"
"Am not!"
"Oh yeah? What about that last time you went to Ryan's party?"
"There is a difference from being a buzz kill and keeping your record clean!"
"What happened?" I asked.
"Ryan's brother is a drunk and Zac decided to have drinks-,"
"No, don't listen to her. What really happened was, Ryan took them out, cause he was adult at the party, because she kept talking about how we couldn't handle them cause we're underaged. I listened and let him do it. Then he wanted to have a drinking contest, but she had to ruin it threatening to call the cops the house,"
"I was helping you!" Cassie protested. "Amanda what do you think?"
Crap.
"Um, I wouldn't drink myself if that answers your question." Zac smirked, "Cute,"
"Am not," I protested.
"Sure, whatever you say sweetheart. But I gotta go, it was nice walking and talking with you ladies," he finished and walked away to wherever weirdos like him go.
"I think he likes you," Cassie joked. "Of anything, he likes you. You two seem to have a lot of history,"
"That's filled with me trying to keep his head on straight,"
"I don't know how you deal with him,"
"You'll learn, you guys have plenty of time to get to know each other in first period,"
"Ah, thanks for reminding me."
When I got home I sat and thought on my bed for a moment looking at my paper full of names and things I found out about them. I continued down the list until I saw Zac's name with hearts around it that he put, but wants people to believe I did.
Should I talk about him class tomorrow?
