"Hey Amanda," Aaron caught me at my locker. "Hey what's up?"
"Where have you been, haven't seen you around,"
"You don't go to my lunch do you?"
"I don't think so,"
"Must miss each other all the time because our classes and stuff aren't similar," I answered closing my locker. But we all knew the real reason he didn't see me around much. It's because he's more of Cassie's friend and the only time I saw him was when Cassie wanted to see him.
"Well, I have a party I was going to invite you to. It's like a kick off for all the new sports coming up. It's for athletes mostly, but you can come,"
"Who said I wasn't an athlete?"
"You play for the school?"
"No, this school sucks in every sport besides football,"
"Maybe you could make them better,"
"I could try, but they're already too far down the rode to be helped." He and I laughed and walked together until we had to part to our separate classes.
I don't have a Cassie to tell me I shouldn't go or what the problems are with going this time, but I'm a big girl. I can make my own decisions.

Jerk 🙄: So there's this party...
Me: I know
Jerk 🙄: So when were you gonna tell me about it?
Me: Wouldn't you already know about the party before I do?
Jerk 🙄: True, but it would've been nice to be invited
Me: You were. That's how you knew about the party
Jerk 🙄: I don't have to be invited to know about a party
Me: Well then why are we having this conversation? 🤔
Jerk 🙄: To find out if you're going sweetheart
Me: No
I lied.
Jerk 🙄: Aw, guess I'll stay home too
Please.
Me: Thanks for letting me know 🤗🙄
So much sass. I know. Thanks for noticing.
Now time to get ready for the party. Hm, what to wear? What do you even wear to a party to celebrate athletes? Would I wear clothes that I'd wear to a regular party?
This was so much easier with Cassie around because if I got the outfit choice wrong, so did she and I didn't feel too bad if I wasn't the only one.
But all the thinking was for nothing because I gave up and just threw on a crop top and jean shorts.
"Amanda, you made it!" Aaron came smiling. "Where's Cassie?" He asked.
"Long story." That I didn't want to explain right now.
"So who all came?"
"A lot of people as you can see. But people you'd know? The only people I'd seen is Zac and Brittany that you'd know. I don't know if you know anyone else."
Now that I think about, I don't have many friends. I'd like to keep it that way.
"You're not an athlete," a voice came from behind me. "Go home." I turned around and saw Brittany standing there, finally with out thing one and two by her side.
"Of course I'd run into you," I said under my breath.
"Speak louder so I can hear you!"
"I don't have to listen to you, I can do whatever I want,"
