"This is so exciting! My baby girl is growing up! I can't believe her first homecoming already!" My mom said smiling at me while my dad next to her was taking pictures.
"Mom, dad, I told you I'm taking pictures at Cassie's house,"
"But we want our own pictures too,"
"I'll send you them,"
"Come on just pose for us, you look beautiful."
I decided to get my hair some wave to it, which is my version of dressing up because my hair is straight 100%, but now 99.99% of the time. I also go myself a short dress, because I was told long dresses were for prom. It was baby blue and had jewels on the chest area. If this wasn't dressed up then I don't know what is.
"Come on, we're going to be late to Cassie's house!" I said after I gave in and did a couple pose for them.
"Okay okay, let's go," my said grabbing her keys.
I took my silver high heels off and slipped on some comfortable gym shoes because I refused to walk around and hurt my feet, especially when it's not needed.
In the car my mom gave me the speech about having fun but not too much fun at the parties. Of course dad probably told her to mention it to me. But when she was done with her speech, we were done driving and I ran up to the door knocking.
"Hello Mrs. Miller," I greeted Cassie's mom. I know we've known each other for a while, but I'm still respectful.
"Hello Amanda, is your mother not coming inside?" She asked.
I waved mom over. "She probably thinks Cassie's ready to come out now," I told her.
"Oh no, she's still in her room getting ready." And at that I headed upstairs. "You look stunning by the way Amanda, the most dressed up I've seen you since you were little,"
"Thank you!"
Ballet. Yeah, let's not talk about that.
"Open up, c'est moi," I said from outside Cassie's bedroom door. I let myself in and saw her applying make-up.
She looked at me and squinted. "Are you not wearing any makeup?"
"No, I wasn't planning on putting on any,"
"No no no, it's homecoming. You may not want to put on a lot, but you're putting on some," she said giving one more stroke to her eye lashes and pulling me down to sit in front of her mirror.
"You look cute, but I'm going to make you look hot." She turned me around to face her and started pulling out all kinds of make up tools that I don't know all the words to starting with the eyeliner.
After what felt like hours she was finally done with the art work she created on my face.
"You look so beautiful," she said turning me around and actually...I liked it.
We both came downstairs and our mothers looked up at us and smiled.
"Oh my goodness Riley, our daughters are supermodels!" Cassie's mom said pulling out her camera and my mom pulling out her phone to record. That's smart, one take pictures and the other record. You get best of both worlds.
After our photo shoot taking 501 pictures, we finally got in my Mom's car as Cassie's mom waved us off.

"Did you end up asking Zac?" I asked when we got out that car and started towards the school.
"No, I didn't,"
"Why not?" I asked and suddenly Aaron came out of no where looking sharp in his suit and tie. He held out his arm and Cassie held him.
"I got asked," she smiled.
