Riiiinnnng!
"Welcome back! Looks like most of you haven't skipped my class today," she said looking around and seeing one or two seats empty. "It's okay, they thought they could get out of presentations, but they'll just do it when they get back," she said then went on her computer to click them absent.
"Alright! I hope you had fun with meeting each other yesterday, because today, we are going to talk tell the class a little about the person you met," she looked around, "anyone care to break the ice?"
No hands.
"Well if I don't see any hands looks like I'm going to call on someone," she looked around to see who her first victim was.
You know that one thing that you remember you heard or saw somewhere that says, if you don't look at them they won't call on you? Yeah, that doesn't work.
"Amanda?" She called and everyone looked at me. "Who would you like to tell us about today?"
I felt like everyone was burning a hole through my face, especially Brittany.
"Zac," I answered and some people looked at him. "Great, both of you please come to the front of the room."
This lady is making me get up. Ay caramba!
I walked to the front of the room and Zac stood next to me awaiting for me to say all the "awesome" things about him. (As he put it when he was talking to me).
"This is Zac...kary," I started and saw some people shaking their heads while others whispered "what."
"His last name was apparently top secret information since he wouldn't tell me. He is a football player at this school and his number is 69, which was a joke his team played on him because he was the last to pick his jersey," some people chuckled at that.
"Most people know him for his parties and others know him for his way with words, depending on your gender," I looked at him and he smiled at me amused by what I was telling the class.
"He hasn't decided on what he wants to do in college, but he has somewhat of an idea where. He didn't want to give out too much just in case he isn't admitted, which, is understandable. And..that's it," I finished and everyone clapped at the end.
"Thank you Amanda. Zac, would you like to go after? Who did you choose?"
I started to walk to my seat but was stopped when he held my wrist. "Amanda,"
"Well that's convenient. You may begin,"
Oh boy.
"This is Amanda and she's new to the school. She use to go to this school named who cares high with a couple of chicks who didn't like her. I could see why because.." He looked at me and I kind of didn't want him to mention the thing at lunch in front of the teacher. "Well you'll have to find out yourself, she's more mysterious that way,"
Phew.
"She only has a small group of friends because she prefers life without the drama. Her favorite ice cream is strawberry, which I find very important to know for future reference," he winked at me and I looked away.
"And that's about it," he finished and everyone clapped as we both walked to our seats.
"Wow, you guys did perfect! So, who's next?"
~
"He said it was good for future reference, like what does that even mean?"
"I told you he liked you," Cassie reminded me and took a bite out of her cardboard pizza.
"No, he's just flirting with me like he does everyone else,"
"Okay, but I'm just warning you, if you come back to me telling me he asked you out-,"
"Which won't happen," I interrupted.
"My advice to you would be run like hell,"
"I'm not gonna run,"
"Oh so you do want him to ask you out?" She asked smiling.
"No, I never said that,"
"Well it sure sounds like that. No person who doesn't want to go out with that other person says, 'oh, I won't say no, but I don't want to date him,'"
"I didn't say that either!" I said tossing a grape at her. She laughed. "And that doesn't even make any sense!"
"You're not letting it make sense that's what it is," she said taking the grape out of her bra and setting it on her tray away from her other food.
"Whatever," I answered and looked over at Zac's table. (Yes, I know, I am always looking at Zac..okay not always, maybe sometimes. But who cares?)
Brittany was sitting over there next to him and her two friends sitting at another table around her. I didn't understand it. If they were friends why don't they all sit together?
Brittany happened to look up and saw me looking over there and she rolled her eyes then looked back at Zac engaging back into whatever conversation they were having.
"Brittany sometimes can push my buttons," I told Cassie.
"Well don't let her,"
"Easier said then done,"
"Not really, just ignore her and she'll go away,"
"I doubt it, she's like gnat,"
"You might be right, but I've dodged her this long,"
"You didn't get on her bad side yet,"
"Hm, who knows. Maybe I have, maybe I haven't,"
"You have a lot of unknown history with the people at this school,"
"Not really. The thing Zac said was a lie by the way,"
"I know,"
"How did you?"
"Because you're too ugly to be noticed by him," I laughed and she threw her boob grape back at me. "Shut up," and I laughed even more.
