I got my lunch by myself today and looked to see if Cassie was at our table. Well should I say my, because she wasn't there.
I sat down and sighed. Picking up my phone, I started to eat, trying to distract myself from the fact I was sitting alone. It's not like it's bad to sit alone, I guess now I can think.
I looked around and saw Cassie sitting with her nerd friends next to Niall. I guess now she's trying to avoid me. Do you think she'd say hi back if I said hi? Probably not..
"Amanda?" Some girl asked randomly coming to my table.
"Yes, I'm her," I answered trying to wonder why she needed me, I've never seen her before. Oh wait-
• Flashback •
I looked around the cafeteria and saw Zac sitting at a table a couple back but to the side just enough to have him in view. Next to him were two girls on both sides laughing at him and admiring his looks. That's probably the only reason the girls are over there. I wonder if he looked like the average guy, what else what would he have?
••
She was one of the girls giggling next to Zac. That means there is only one reason she'd come over here.
"Someone wants to talk to you," she said moving out my way of vision to see Zac looking over at me.
I gave an angry look his way and answered the girl with a smile. "No thanks, I'll pass."
She shrugged her shoulders. "Okaaay," she answered turning around. She's probably commenting about how I'd rather be alone than go sit with him. I guess that's a reason I could give for sitting alone, but I'm pretty sure some wouldn't fall for it.
I looked back down at my phone and seconds later was interrupted again. I looked up to see who it was this time and it was none other than, "Ugh, Zac," I replied to his appearance as he sat down in front of me. "Can't you take a hint?"
"My mom always said I had more beauty than brains," he smiled. I looked back down at my phone shaking my head trying to make him irrelevant, when he suddenly he reached out and quickly stole my phone.
"Hey!" I yelled as he held my phone in the air. "We need to talk," he started.
I crossed my arms, "You can talk all you want, but that doesn't man I'm going to reply,"
"Come on, don't be so mean sweetheart,"
"Can you just go flirt with that hot blonde you sent over here? I don't have time for this bull," I answered going for my phone again, but missed.
"She's not as entertaining," he admitted and I placed my head in my hands. "Fine! You germ," I said under my breath. "What do you want to deliberate about?"
He smiled at my submission and of course, dropped my phone in his pocket. "So explain why you're mad again,"
"Oh my gosh," I whispered. "Okay," I answered looking back at him. "Because you keep flirting with Cassie! And now she won't talk to me!"
He looked confused, clearly not understanding what I said.
"So because I flirt with her...she's not talking to you?" He repeated to me.
"Yes! I mean-, no. Um," I took a breath trying to re-gather my thoughts. "Cassie has a boyfriend, and he doesn't like that you flirt with her, so he got mad at her for letting you do that, and told her to stop being around you because you flirt with her. But she said it's hard because," I stopped.
Do I say because you're around me and she's around me? Would that come off...weird? I don't know. I have to quick come up with an excuse!
"...You're everywhere." Nice. "So he told her to 'fix it' and she can't so," I shrugged my shoulders.
"Sounds like bull shit," he replied and took one of my French fries from my tray.
"What do you mean?"
"I never flirt with her. I tease her, sure, get on her nerves, yeah. But I never flirt with her,"
I stayed quiet for a moment trying to remember a time he flirted with her.
"I wouldn't do that when I have someone else on my mind," he continued looking at me smiling. He took a couple more fries as he was getting up and walked back to his table.
I hate him....
"Hey! My phone!"

At the end of the school day I decided to grow some balls, and go talk to Cassie. So I quickly packed my things I had for homework (which wasn't much), and headed down to her locker.
"Cassie." She looked at me then shut her locker walking past me. "We need to talk," I grabbed her arm and she turned around. "What Amanda!"
"Can we just take a minute and talk about this!"
"About what?! About you taking your man's side?!"
"He's not my man!"
My phone buzzed.
"Who is that?" Cassie asked.
My man.
"No one," I answered quickly. Suddenly she charged towards me and we were wrestling for my phone. After minutes of tugging she slipped it out of my hands. I tried to get it back but-,
"You bitch!" She yelled.
"Look! Cass! It's not what it looks like!" I yelled trying to make her believe using the cheesiest line in the book.
She just stood there for a moment.
"Only my friends call me Cass," she dropped my phone in my hand. "It's Cassie to you,"

Is Cassie overreacting?
Will they be able to come from this?
Do you believe Zac?
