There was so much to think about. Okay maybe just a couple. One being Zac! I have to go back to class and see him again ever since the party and I'm a little nervous. I don't know what's going to happen. Maybe I'll just say I'm sick...but I can't be sick forever.
Ugh, anyway the second thing is, I haven't told Cassie about the Zac and I on the dance floor thing. I mean I guess it's not super important or anything, but after telling her nothing happened I can't tell her something happened or she'll know I lied. But it was just a little lie, I'll be fine right? Right.
The bell rang for class and I got into my seat. I didn't want to look around and seem like I'm looking for him if he ends up actually being here, so I just sat done and tried to distract myself by pulling out a piece of paper and a pencil to doodle on.
Someone walked pass my seat and I looked up seeing it was Zac. Late to class I see. I mean I didn't care, but he started so early. Yet technically he wasn't late yet because the teacher wasn't in class.
Once he sat down he started staring at his phone. I guess he didn't think of last night as anything. Maybe I'm just overreacting.
Suddenly my phone buzzed and I looked to see it was Cassie.
Cassie: Meet me in the bathroom, I'm on your floor
I bit my lip. I can't just leave class right now. The teacher will mark me late. I sat there for a couple seconds hoping that the teacher will come in soon, but nothing.
Me: Give me a minute, the teacher isn't here and I need to ask her
Cassie: Amanda come on, it's important
My thoughts were racing. I don't want to be counted as absent in first period then go to second period and get busted. But Cassie needs me and it's important. I looked around and my eyes met Zac's from his seat. He must have noticed something was wrong, so came over to my desk.
"What's up with you?" He asked.
"My friend needs me and I don't want to just get up and the teacher count me absent when she gets back from God knows where," I explained. He looked at me nodding his head slowly I guess trying to think while telling me that he understood.
"I got you, just go," he answered without telling me his master plan.
"What are you gonna do?"
"I got this," he smiled and started walking back to his desk.
I guess that's my cue. Fingers crossed.

"Cassie?" I asked as the door was closing behind me. I could hear small sniffles like someone had just gotten done crying. "Cassie?" I asked again and knocked on the stall she was in.
"Cassie, talk to me, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
It was silent for a moment, as in no speaking, because she continued to sniff. Once she stopped she unlocked the door and still couldn't look up at me.
"Ryan..." She started, slowly getting the words out of her mouth. I waited to hear what she had to say, it was like slowly getting to the climax in a movie or story. I was anxious to know.
"Broke up...with m-," she started to cry again. I held her close to me laying her head on my shoulder. "I'm confused, why?"
"Because of Zac! It's all Zac's fault!"
"Okay, how is it Zac's fault?" I asked and she started to stop crying and wiping her eyes. "He told me that Zac was flirting with me and stuff. And I tried to tell him nothing was happening or going to happen. I tried to tell him Zac was an idiot and does it to everybody. He was telling me to start avoiding him and I said it's hard to when you are around him sometimes and talking about him. He got mad then said 'find a way to fix it.'" She sniffled.
"That doesn't mean it's over," I tried.
"Yes it does! Because I don't know how! I might as well as face that fact that as long as Zac's around I can't be happy with someone else,"
"No, that means he couldn't trust you. And besides that, did Zac even know you were dating someone?"
"Are you trying to defend him?!" She yelled and gave me a little push.
"I mean no, I'm just saying there's a chance he doesn't know,"
"You believe that?! He probably does know! He hates Ryan and will do anything to ruin his life no matter who he hurts in the process!"
"Cassie, just chill out, you're not thinking straight." I tried to calm her down but when I tried to put my hand on her arm she shoved it away.
"Of course you'd take your little boyfriend's side," she said under her breath and headed out the restroom.
What just happened?
~
"Took you a long time to handle your girl needs," Zac replied, walking next to me after class.
I didn't reply back and he looked at me confused. "What's wrong now?"
"Did you know Cassie was dating someone?" I asked him.
"What? What's with the random-," I walked in front of him stopping him in his tracks.
"Did you know Cassie was dating someone?" I asked again and he just looked at me with scrunched eyebrows not speaking. "God," I replied to the silence and he grabbed my wrist as I turned to walk away.
"Hey, what are you doing?" I stood there for a moment and yanked my hand from his grip. I started to walk away not looking back. It's hurt me so much to do that to him, but I did it because he hurt my friend. At least from his reaction, that's all I can assume.
"Why didn't you just say no," I whispered to myself.

Is Zac worth Cassie and Amanda's friendship?
Was Cassie just being a drama queen? Or was she right?
