chapter 13

VARAD' POV

We walked inside my apartment which has only 2 rooms, a simple kitchen and three different balcony along with a dining hall. The best part of this? I can see sea from every balcony, beautiful Mumbai shows her charm everytime I stand.

"I know this is sudden and unexpected but I still chose to sleep with my son." Oishani spoke in a low voice. 

" We are legally married that's all. It's a safety for me in the society. I rather be someones wife than be single at this point of my life as I face immense backlash at workplace for being a single parent and I can't struggle financially to feed to my child." She said placing Idhant on floor as he quickly ran around to play with plants.

Turning towards her i held her hand in mine.
" Oishani, I am sorry for what I have done. I don't know why I forgot what I had with you but I do want to give our relation a name. I want our child to have his mother and father together. You will live as you wish like. It's taking one step at a time."

She was quite for a long time. If I knew how my decision will stabilize her life I would have taken this the moment she came to my office. Idhant had wonderful time running around my empty apartment hiding at different corner, torturing his mother who was preparing small greeting cards as written gift.  We all went to her place where Oishani arranged for small birthday party. Vashisth was too excited looking at so many kids. He's got natural aura to attract kids around him.

" Babe! Did you check out news?!." Vashisth shouted making us frown.

Long term girlfriend of bussiness tycoon Varad was spotted with their child at district Court today.

Is Varad Mittal dating this woman?

I shut down Vashisth tab as they wrote whatever they can. Akash promised me that proper news will be published by tomorrow morning.

" You know, this shouldn't bother us." I said carefully looking at Oishani who was lost in her own thoughts.

" Come on babe! This is such a happy day! You got married, your assests are back in your hand and most importantly it's our idhaaaaaants birthdayyyyyyyyyyyy." He shouted like a madman jumping with our son who was more than happy to dance.

I looked at Oishani as she walked out of her small one bhk standing near a balcony.

" You know if these offend you I am sorry." I started to which she just showed her hand for me to stop.

" I..I had some memories which are too raw for me to forget. It hit me hard. Not these news line. " She stated holding the rail. From here we can see metro trains running in a pattern.

" I think it's better if we be as roommates and parents to our son." She said making me frown.

" I can't take this again. My life could have been stable if I married my best friend instead of agreeing to you." She stated.

Turning her towards me I held her close. She had frightened expression, with her other hand she held the railing tight. 

" Listen carefully Oishani, I am trying very hard here. You don't know what it feels like when your own sister and parents knew that I had a girl in my life who was pregnant with my child. I don't know parts of my own life Oishani. But I want to build one with you. Now if you will take another man's name being my wife. I won't control myself again." I said leaving her alone. She just looked at me and walked back inside.

My anger rushed through my veins and I had severe headache.

'If only you know how happy you make me, you would Jump in joy dear.'

'A girl as lovely as you will never want to be with me, you make me happy I don't know how , when, why but you do. So I request you to accept my proposal and be mine'

Opening my eyes I looked outside as voices rang in my head. It was like a deja vu for me. My energy drained suddenly making me weak. I looked back to see Oishani jumping with our son to some song.

What is wrong with me?

Who is going to tell me about my past? What have I done 1.5yrs ago that no one wants to talk about it!?

Staring at my phone, I called up Akash.

" Yes man! Aren't you going to have first night with your wife?." He asked me.

" Shut up!." I shouted go which he went silent.

" Akash, you have been working in my start up since 1 year. I want you to get bank statements of all my accounts from 2years ago. Especially the time you didn't join my start up. " I said which made him wonder what am I looking at.

As far as I know, my company started progressing since 1 year. My vision to establish an organization was materialized one year ago approximately before that there's a certain period of my life which I couldn't remember.  My parents said stress made me forget but now I get it. It was never stress.

None of my household and travel  expenses were borne by my parents, I might have paid for it. If I was at an conference as Oishani said, maybe I might have paid for it too? What was I doing during the time my mind doesn't recollect. I can't believe I neglected this simple method to search the connection between all the events.

" Papa? Come join us!." Oishani shouted. Her teary eyes are now shining with mischief just like my son and she danced with him on her hip. Kids gathered around her jumping in joy while photographer I hired smiled widely looking at this environment.
