Chapter-7

As Vikrant left home, Avni finally sighed in peace.

How can someone be so arrogant?... She was not able to understand. She could still feel the hatred in his gaze. If it was in her hands she wouldn't let herself to stay at his place even for a single minute but Dadi was so good to her. The way she was treating her and even scolded his own grandson for her, she felt her kindness. She was so loving that it was hard for Avni to say no to her. Therefore she decided to keep staying there.

"Badi dadi.... I am ready....." Sam called her from him room.

"Coming Sam......" She replied.

"Come Avni....." She said and they both went inside Sam's room.

"Badi Dadi... I forgot to show you this yesterday..." Sam said and handed over her his school dairy and she started reading it.

"What is it dadi?" Avni asked as she saw worry on her face.

"Next Sunday is Father's Day.. School is having a function. All the students are invited with their families....specifically fathers....." She told her in a low voice.

"So..... "Avni still couldn't get it...

"Avni Vikrant will never attend this....." She said and sat down on the couch.

"Huhh.. But why??"Avni was surprised.

"Because he doesn't want to......."( she sighed). "You are new here Avni, you won't understand..." She said and instantly got up when her gaze fell on the wall clock.

"Sam... Come on let's have breakfast.."she said and went out with him leaving Avni there in confusion.

Really.......He won't go to his own son's school function.... Wow...... He is really a devil. Actually he should change his name to  Mr. Devil Kashyap...It suits him best.......How can he be so insensitive? I thought he is being rude to me but no, he doesn't care for anyone... Poor Sam... That's why he feels so insecure...He doesn't have mother and still this devil has no time for his own son...Oh god...How cruel he is!....She was lost cursing him when Dadi called her.

After the breakfast Avni asked dadi if she could take Sam to school to which dadi gladly allowed her. Sam was surprised why she was going with him. He was sitting silently in the car.

"So Sam... Do you like going to school?" She asked. She was trying to make him comfortable with her.

"Yes...." He answered slowly.

"Good.... So tell me something about your school, actually tell me about your friends... I am sure you must have many friends....."  She was continuously talking to him . At first Sam was little hesitant but soon he too started enjoying her company.

He got so engaged in Avni's funny chats, stories about her naughtiness in her school life that he didn't realize when he reached school.

"So... This is your school.... Wow it's nice...' Avni said as they came out of the car.

"Thanks...." He said smiling.

"Ok... Go now.... You must be getting late..." Avni said as she heard the bell.

"Yes.... But will you come to take me home...." He asked in his sweet voice. From his smile it was obvious that he really liked her.

"Of course Sam......" She said while pinching his chubby cheeks.

"Thanks..... Umm...what should I call you...." He asked.

"Hummmm.... That's a tough question.
Sam... You can call me anything but please No Aunty..... I am too young for that....." She said with sarcasm while making a comical face that Sam couldn't help himself and he started laughing..
