Chapter-42

Avni's heart jumped hard against her ribcage as she felt his lips on her palm and when his word Mine made it's way towards her ears she literally gasped for her breathe.

Everything around her became silent. The only sound she was able to hear was her heartbeat. Her body was in his lap feeling his strong arm around her, his never ending gaze on her face, his hypnotizing smile and his words... Everything was making it hard for her to breath.

She was looking at him dumbfounded. She didn't know how to react. What's wrong, what's right.... Her mind was not able to differentiate. The only thing she knew was whatever he was doing, it was capturing her soul. She always thought of herself as a practical person and never considered herself as a normal girl whose heart would beat for someone. But now he was proving her wrong. She felt possessed by him.

She felt as if he had all the power to control her body and soul. She was feeling confused, why on the one hand she was betraying him by stealing that file for Ayush and on the other hand feeling this way for him.

What is this happening? She thought.

"Vi... Vikrant...." She whispered while taking control of her breath.
 
"Humm" He responded.

"This is... I mean....You and...." She paused when she saw his gaze travelling from her eyes to her lips. Her body started getting weak as if there was no strength left in her. Her chest started getting up and down feeling  his face getting closer.

"Shhh..... Hold on Angel..... And calm down..." He said while comforting her and looking at her shivering lips.

"Tomorrow is a big day. .. You should rest now". He whispered in a husky voice. He looked at her fragile frame which was shaking because of their proximity. Her heavy breathing was a proof, she was getting uncomfortable. He licked his lips realizing the tense situation and finally after suppressing his surging emotions he loosened his grip around her and as soon as he did that she immediately stood up and went and lay down on the bed.

Vikrant too lay down beside her continuing admiring his Angel.

Thank you so much Angel, for coming in my life. Today if I am feeling alive is only because of you. I don't know how and when you made your way towards my heart.

There is so much I want to say to you Angel, but I don't know why, whenever I try to confess my feelings to you, words just gets stuck in my throat.

But in spite of this, these days  I have started feeling that the distance between us is gradually decreasing. Now I am just waiting for the day when you will accept me wholeheartedly..... He was drowned in his thoughts and didn't realized when sleep engulfed him.

"Di.... I need your charger... Mine's not working...." Bulbul asked while coming inside the room and breaking her chain of thoughts.

"Huhh... Ya sure..." Avni  replied and forwarded her charger.

"Wow.... It's so pretty.... Di, when did you get this?... I have never seen it before..." Bulbul exclaimed as soon as Avni's sparkling ring caught her gaze.

"This is such a  beautiful ring... Did Jiju get this for you?" She enquired getting mesmerized by it and Avni just nodded in response.

"Wow di... You are so lucky..... This looks really expensive.. Look at the diamond... Jiju's  choice is excellent....." She said while admiring the ring.

"Ahmmm.......Did you have any doubt about my choice, Bulbul? Don't forget your Di is also chosen by me...." They heard Vikrant who was standing behind them. He  curled his lips up to form his contagious smile and came to them.
