Crossing the desert sand took four days. Casimir hired a carriage so that they wouldn't have to walk through the desert heat. Logain wouldn't have minded, but he appreciated how thoughtful the prince was. This way, Logain was protected, and he wouldn't feel as though he would pass out because the heat was getting to him. Their guide was a young girl and her family, who knew the desert well. The girl took the lead most of the time, talking the whole time to her family. These people were used to traveling through the desert, so the heat didn't get to them like it did to the prince and warlock. Logain couldn't wait to be in Ambria, where the weather would be much cooler for him.

Once they reached Casimir's kingdom, they bid farewell to the family. Their guides were on their way to the kingdom, where they would trade goods from Rasea. Casimir and Logain got off before they reached the city. Neither of them were in a rush for this adventure to end. They would travel the rest of the way to Logain's house on foot. Now that they were in Ambria again, Logain felt as though he could finally relax. He took a deep breath of the fresh air. There was nowhere else like this kingdom. He could never call any of the other kingdoms his home.

On foot, it would take a day or two to reach Logain's house. His home was on a cliff overlooking the capital of Ambria. It was away from the loud noises of the city, which was perfect for Logain. It was quiet and peaceful, just as he liked it. This wouldn't be the first time Logain had a guest over, but this would be the first time someone stayed with him for an extended period of time. He was a little nervous that the crown prince of Ambria would be the first person to ever sleep over.

As they continued to walk down the path, Logain noticed that the sky had grown dark. It was cloudy when they arrived in Ambria, but Logain didn't think anything of it when they left the carriage. Now as he looked at the sky, he knew the inevitable would happen. Just as he had this thought, it began to rain. The rain was light at first, but it quickly picked up.

Casimir took Logain's hand. He wasn't sure where they could run to get out of the rain, but eventually, he spotted a barn ahead of them. It looked abandoned, but it would have to do until the rain stopped. It was pouring, so it didn't take long for the men to become soaked. Casimir pulled Logain along with him as they ran for the barn. Once reaching the structure, Casimir pushed the barn door open. Just as he thought, this place looked as though it hadn't been used in years.

Logain was breathing heavy after being forced to run to the shelter. He was out of breath, and it didn't help that his soaked clothes felt heavy. Unfortunately, there was nothing else for the men to change into. Logain shivered, the wetness making him feel cold. Casimir put his arms around him, but it didn't help that much. Especially not when Casimir was soaked as well, but Logain accepted the hug that followed. Soaked or not, it was nice to be in the prince's arms.

Teasingly, Casimir said, "You know, if we get naked, we could use our body heat to warm each other up."

The thought of doing such a thing made Logain blush, but he wasn't opposed to the idea like he thought he would be. Just the other day, he saw the prince shirtless. It wouldn't be that big of a deal if he saw a little more. He was more embarrassed by the idea of another man seeing him like that. He should have pushed Casimir away, but instead, the warlock tugged on the prince's clothing.

"Okay . . . let's do it," Logain agreed.

Casimir was surprised by his response. "I was joking, Logain. We don't have to actually do anything."

"What's the big deal? I-it's not like we're going to have sex. We're just going to share body heat." Logain was nervous, but to prove that he was serious, the warlock reached up and kissed Casimir on the lips. He undid the clasp on the prince's cloak and let it fall to the ground.
