The High Priestess' body fell to the ground as her head rolled away. Logain gripped Casimir tightly, who was breathing heavily from the rage that built up inside of him. The prince of Ambria took someone's life, all to protect the person that he loved. If he hesitated for another moment, then Meredith could have cast a spell or summoned another portal to kill Logain. He couldn't allow that to happen, even if it meant tainting himself by taking the life of another. Casimir didn't regret killing her, but Logain looked up at him worriedly.

Seeing his concerned expression made Casimir drop his sword as he pulled Logain into his embrace. He hugged him tightly, feeling as though he would break at any second. He might not have regretted killing her, but that didn't make this any easier for the prince. He felt shaken to his core. Casimir faced many hardships in his life, but this was perhaps the hardest thing he ever had to do. He couldn't look at the body that lay before him.

While the warlock tried to comfort the prince, Tristan was fighting a battle of his own as he held onto Dante. Smoke continued to pour through the wounds from the demon, and the prince of Zuvelia could feel himself beginning to fade away. The first time he died, it happened quickly. He wasn't aware of his death, but now, Dante knew he wouldn't survive this. Tristan continued to support him, not willing to let him go.

"Dante, let's get you to your body. We'll collect the ring from Meredith, and I can resurrect you. I'm not going to let you die this time," Tristan stated desperately. They were so close. If they reached Dante's body in this realm, then he could save him.

Yet, Dante shook his head. He gripped Tristan tightly as he felt his soul beginning to leave this world. Before he went, there was something he needed to tell him. "Tristan . . . I'm already dead, and I don't think I'll be coming back from this. I can feel myself beginning to fade away, and no amount of magic will save me. I'm just glad that I had the chance to see you again. The last time we saw each other, we parted on bad terms. I regret all of my actions from the past, but the only thing I don't regret is you. Thank you for coming into my life."

"Stop. Nothing is going to happen to you. I promised that I would save you this time. You saved me, so it's my turn to save you." Tristan didn't want to hear any goodbyes. Now that they were together again, he would make things right.

Dante gave him a sad smile. "You already saved me. Without you, I never would have made it as far as I did. You opened my heart and were my greatest joy. Being with you was the best thing that ever happened to me, even if it started hard for us. Don't be sad that I'm leaving. You have so much more in this life to look forward to."

The prince glanced behind them briefly, his eyes landing on Varys for a moment. He turned back to his old lover and added, "You belong with someone who is still living and waiting for you. So take care of my brother for me, okay? Both of you deserve to be happy."

Tristan couldn't speak up. When he opened his mouth to say something, he could feel his throat tightening. Tristan wasn't a man who cried often, but losing Dante for a second time made the silent tears flow down his face. The prince of Zuvelia wiped away his tears before hugging him tightly. Dante wished he could stay in his arms forever. If only time could stop, and they could stay there together for as long as they needed.

But time didn't stop for anyone. Dante buried his head against Tristan's chest, taking in the last moments of his embrace. "I love you, Tristan."

It was hard to say the words as he felt choked up from his tears, but finally, Tristan was able to say the words that Dante had been waiting to hear for a long time. "I love you, too, Prince Dante."

Then Dante was gone.
