It was very early in the morning when Casimir snuck out of the castle to see Logain. They would need to start at the beginning and come up with a new plan to take down Meredith, one that didn't risk Logain's life. The prince was determined as he walked down the street towards Varys' home. Since Logain could no longer be involved, he was worried about him. He knew Logain well enough by now to know that the warlock would be upset that he was being left out. Casimir didn't want him to attempt something that he shouldn't. He hoped he reached the warlock before he did anything rash.

As Casimir walked up to the front door, he noticed that he wasn't the only one paying a visit this early. Amaris was there as well. Perhaps he came up with a plan to get the ring without involving Logain. He said that he would think of something. Casimir felt hopeful. If they could do something about the High Priestess now, then the prince could finally be with Logain without any worries. More than anything, he wanted a secure future with him.

The clergyman noticed Casimir approaching him. Normally, Amaris' eyes would linger on the prince, but they didn't this time as he quickly looked away. Amaris knocked on the door and ignored Casimir. The prince found this odd, but he said nothing on the matter. Perhaps Amaris was trying to move on from him. They had been together for years, and now that Casimir had found someone else, Amaris had to accept it. Even if he accepted it, it still hurt.

The prince was curious as he asked, "Did you come up with a plan?"

Amaris didn't glance at him as he nodded, but he didn't say anything in response. The clergyman waited for someone to come to the door, but kept his gaze away from Casimir. He shifted awkwardly back and forth on his feet, uncomfortable being in Casimir's presence. After being with him for so long, the prince knew Amaris well enough to know that something was wrong.

"Amaris . . . did something happen? The High Priestess didn't find out about us, did she? Or if it's me, then I'm sorry. We haven't had the chance to properly speak with each other since I came back to Ambria." Casimir didn't want to be his enemy. Things might not have worked out between them, but the prince didn't want there to be any bad blood. He hoped to let go of the past and move forward. He hoped that Amaris would do the same.

Eventually, the clergyman sighed. "It's not you. As for Meredith . . . that's something I should talk to everyone about. I just . . . I know you'll be mad at me."

"What did you do?" Casimir asked, but he didn't get an answer as the front door finally opened.

Tristan stood on the other side to greet them. He gave them a friendly smile and yawned. He looked at them, surprised to see only Amaris and the prince. He asked, "Where's Logain? I thought the three of you would come together. I know we told him that he can't be part of the plan, but I thought he would still want to know what's going on."

"Logain left?" Casimir asked, worried.

After telling the warlock to stay at the house for the night, he hoped that he would listen to him. He was beginning to fear the worst. He hoped that he wouldn't, but the warlock must have planned to take matters into his own hands. It regarded his life, so he would want to protect himself. Casimir turned, hoping to find Logain at his home, but before he had the chance to run away, Amaris stopped him by gripping his arm.

The prince glared back at him. "Don't try to stop me right now, Amaris. I need to find Logain and make sure he doesn't do something stupid. I won't allow him to attempt anything on his own."

There was the possibility that Casimir was jumping to conclusions. Logain could have stayed at home, moping around because he couldn't be involved anymore. Maybe it would be a relief to the warlock that he didn't have to do anything, but the prince highly doubted that. Something was telling him that he needed to find Logain and fast.
