Aiden
I waited for Sebastian as Janet got in Dad's car. She's finally going back home. I begged her to stay one more week but she said she couldn't take my off-key singing in the shower plus the transportation would cost her. I'm going to miss her a lot but going to my first period that is English will be even more hard. Mrs Williams died Thursday night while coming home from work.
She was such a great teacher to all of us. Sure she was sassy but still she had our hearts. I was her favorite student. "aren't you glad that we won't have English class until they find a new one," Michael from my history class asked leaning against the lockers as I put my backpack in. "which will be in like a week."
I sniffle as I finally look at him. "Hey, that's not very kind to say about a deceased person," Sebastian spoke up and the rude person chuckled looking at my friend. "And who are you supposed to be," he looks at me with knitted brows. "His boyfriend, I see you moved on from Scott. A white boy who has a European accent. I thought you were a snow bunny."
I squint my eyes at him as I walk away. "Are teenagers really this disrespectful in America?" Sebastian asked as he put his arms around my neck. I felt flustered but hid it using my notebook as a cover. I look through the glass square at the top of the door seeing Mr Goldberg the history teacher sitting at the desk crying but stop as soon as I turned the knob.
"hey boys, there's no class today because you know." He never looked at me as he held his head down the entire time. "Yeah I got the news 8 hours after she passed plus that little boy that got crush oh god imagine what his parents are feeling." I felt myself about to cry as Sebastian rubbed my back. I look at him with watery eyes.
"that little boy was my nephew his name was Jonathan and would've been 6 years old today." Sebastian gasped and went to the teacher and hugged him as he sobbed. Everyone especially Sebastian was crying. An emotional mess. All of us spent the whole period talking about good times with Mrs Williams. "And then she held a class party for the ones that passed, once you didn't get an invite you know you failed." I wheezed. "So you passed?" Sebastian asks with confusion.
"yeah, and I had a whole box of pizza for myself. Now that's on being a teacher's pet." I wipe away the stained tears. "Mrs Williams will always be remembered as that woman with confidence, determination, integrity, and wisdom not to mention knowledge." Mr Goldberg said as the bell went off.
"hey don't we have you next?" I ask and he nods before leaving. "I have math." Sebastian frowns but dabs me before leaving for his class. I rushed to mine but only 8 students were there. I guess not many of us are in a learning mood.
