I watched the student who had fainted at lunchtime. There was something about her reaction that didn't sit right with me. When school finally let out and I saw her again, she seemed terrified, as if she had seen something beyond comprehension.

Determined to understand what had happened, I approached her, hoping to offer some reassurance. But before I could even utter a word, she recoiled from me as if she saw my orange eyes.

The girl ran off, her terrified screams of calling me a monster. What had caused her to react so strongly to my presence? I didn't remember revealing my true nature.

Aiden and Whitney's dismissive comments did little to ease my concerns. While they may have brushed off the girl's reaction as a result of her alleged smoking habits.

We walked away from the scene, my mind continued to race with questions. What had the girl seen? Was it a glimpse of my true self, hidden beneath the veneer of humanity?

Suddenly Whitney claimed to know how high someone could get because she indulged in smoking as well. I shot her a questioning look, wondering why she hadn't mentioned this before.

"You smoke too?" I asked, surprised.

She shrugged nonchalantly. "Yeah, sometimes. Helps me sleep. I'm a bit of a night owl."

Aiden chimed in, curiosity is evident in his voice. "How do you manage not to get caught?"

Whitney smirked a hint of pride in her demeanor. "I know how to hide it. Plus, it's not like anyone's actively looking for it."

"Anyway, I have to Head home because I'm receiving a very very important gift," Aiden said and I smiled, already knowing it was the puppy I couldn't wait to kill it. Just need the perfect time to attack.

"Feeling excited?" I laughed and nodded before hugging me and then leaving Whitney and me on the school property. I watch Aiden skip away like a princess making Whitney laugh until someone bumps into me.

I look up seeing that it's none other than Scott and two other people. "I don't know what you're hiding monster but since you came here Nashville has changed and I'm going to figure it out."

Inside I was panicking but on the outside, I wore a smug. "And you," a black girl with braids points in Whitney's face. Her eyes widened so I stepped in front. "Whatever happened to Myra this morning was an accident and Whitney had nothing to do with it. So back off."

Scott's eyes narrowed, but he didn't back down. "I don't believe you," he spat, his voice laced with anger. "I know there's something off about you, Sebastian. And I won't rest until I find out what it is."

I clenched my fists, trying to maintain my composure despite the rising tension. "You're wasting your time, Scott," I said, my voice cold and steady. "There's nothing to find."
