Chinmayi's POV:
Today is Friday , that means we will be having physics test tomorrow, so it's been a week since Sujit sir has taken over physics subject, and to be honest I feel like I am starting to like physics you know it's not easy to like a thing you despise the most , but the way he teaches is just too good and interesting, he makes everything simple and relatable, I finally felt like a huge burden is off my shoulder but I don't wanna get my hopes too high let's see what I am gonna do in tomorrow's test.
" Chinmayi! Dinner is ready " I heard my mom shout from downstairs, I groaned and closed my books shut and walked down, " I am here mom! What's for dinner?" I asked her, settling myself on table , " umm...it's actually vegetable pulaov with soya curry" she replied ,
" that's great" I said seeming pleased with the dishes, we started eating when mom asked " how's your physics class? You seem at ease?" She asked , " yes mom! To be honest I am learning it slowly , whatever sir is teaching I am registering it in my brain " I replied
" that's good news " she smiled at me
" yes mom , I am happy and sir is really strict but also very friendly " I said a little too excitedly, " um is it ? Who is this new sir?" She mumbled seeming a little suspicious cause i am not a person to get excited easily.
" his name is Sujit mom , I guess he might be in his 20's" I replied back, " oh that's nice Chinmayi , hope you get along with sir and learn well" she said to me , and I nodded, just like that our dinner has finished and I headed back to my room.
As I was rushing to my school , I just remembered I forgot my textbook , shit! I put in on my table last night and forgot to pack it , ohhh God I guess today I am in huge trouble, with thudding heart i came to class and sat on my bench I noticed Geeta isn't here yet, so I just sighed and opened my zoology books to read.
Even after class has started Geeta haven't come yet , so I thought maybe she decided to skip school today , and u looked at time to see 2 more hours for physics class, my anxiety is at top notch but I remained calm cause today sir will conduct test that means he won't ask for textbook, my heart and mind claimed at this thought.
From past few days I observed that if we do any single mistake related to subject trust me , we are in deep trouble, but if it's not subject sir is lenient towards us.
Bell rang indicating its time for physics , sweat started forming on my forehead but I wiped it off, " hello students, so is everyone ready for the test?" Sir asked us , we all responded yes.
" I guess all are enthusiastic to write the test today" he muttered and looked around the room as if searching for something, when his eyes made contact with mine I felt like breathless , his eyes are too beautiful to be honest.
He looked at me and smiled " Chinmayi have you bought your textbook cause you look a little worried or anything is bothering you " sir asked me , I felt like I wish ground could swallow me , I stood up being very embarrassed and all students eyes on me anticipating my answer, taking a deep breath , I muttered " no sir , I actually forgot it , it won't happen again sir " I mumbled out, " I don't know what your problem but anyways I am not in mood to punish , lets start our test " he mumbled without looking at me , something in me has become disappointed but nevertheless I am happy that I am not gonna experience any punishment today.
Sir started disturbing test papers " alright I will be giving 40 mins " he announced and everyone has become submerged into test , I skimmed my eyes through it and my mind went blank, but still I found few questions which I learned previously I guess about about 10 to 15 questions , without wasting time I did what I know and I looked up to see it's just 15 minutes have been finished and I feel like idiot knowing all my classmates are solving but not me.
Sir is roaming in class and when he came beside me , he noticed my paper and went away , I felt at relief , after 10 mins when he again came towards me ,
" don't you know anything Chinmayi, your sitting idle since test has started " he questioned me , " I---I--- am tr---ying sir " I stuttered out , " it doesn't seem like your trying , your just sitting idle, haven't you practiced yesterday " sir questioned out again, " I did sir " I mumbled , " but your not doing anything " he muttered and walked away looking a little angry.
After 40 minutes, he collected our sheets and bell rang indicating class is done " ok students be ready for results and if anyone failed in this trust me it's gonna be serious , if anyone fails don't worry I will be talking with you in staff room tomorrow" he said out loud and clear and walked out.
