Did you ever deny something where your heart knows it's true but your brain doesn't want to accept it?

Olivia's POV:

I am in college feeling better. I covered my bruises with some makeup with the help of emma. No matter what happens the world never stops you should keep going on. I say this to myself everyday.

I completed my morning classes. Sophie, Liam and I sat in the same place where we sat yesterday for lunch. Liam is pissed after he saw me and scolded because of my carelessness. Of course I told him everything, he is my best friend. Sophie is very angry at ashton.

"I will break each and every bone of that idiot" Liam shouted. Everybody in the cafeteria gave us weird looks.

"Look if you don't stop this I will never see your face again. I already told you, Dylan and Sam took care of him. He will never try anything again" I assured him. My phone rang I saw the caller ID and smiled.

"Hey princess! where are you?"

"I am in cafeteria."

" I will be there in five minutes."

"Okay"

After few minutes Dylan, Sam and Emma came to the cafeteria and sat with us.

"I saw her in the corridor and remembered she is your roommate so I told her to join" Dylan explained.

"I am sorry Emma I thought of calling you but it slipped my mind. Thanks for coming."

"That's okay" Emma shrugged with a smile. I introduced Sophie and Liam. We ordered food and started having lunch. I always ate alone in school so that I could avoid bully, but now I am happy that I have friends.

"Take it mom sent these for you" liam gave me a box and I opened it.

"Chocolate waffles! Thank you. I love you!" but he didn't say anything.

"What's wrong?"

"I asked mom to do these from months she never did but when I told her I met you she remembered these are your favorite and made them for you. She also told she will break my hands if I eat these without your permission" I laughed. Jane is a sweetheart. I always celebrated Christmas with them she brought gifts and made chocolate waffles for me.

"Aww you are jealous" I taunt him.

"I am not" I know he is jealous which made me happy.

"It's okay to accept Liam. I will give you some" I shared waffles and ate the remaining.

Liam is giving me weird looks. He had a smile on his face, mostly a smirk.

"What" I mouthed. He shrugged and smiled with a wink.

Lunch ended and we dispersed to our classes. In the middle of the hallway I saw ashton my eyes widened. Memories of yesterday came back and I am scared but when ashton saw me something flashed in his eyes. He didn't give another glance and went away. I sighed in relief.

Rest of the day went well. I am in my apartment working on my assignments.

After some time my phone started ringing.

"Hello"

"Hi oli, what my sweetest best friend is doing?" That's weird he never call me with such sweet names.

"What do you want?"

"What? I can't talk with my best friend?" I know he is teasing me.

"Cut the crap and tell me why you called and also what's with the looks that you gave me at lunch?"

"Ahhh coming to that topic, what's going on between you and Mr handsome?"

"Who? Dylan? He is just a friend."

"Not him the other one" I rolled my eyes.

"Nothing. He doesn't even talk to me. He always glare at me and on top of that he don't like me."

"Who are you fooling oli? The guy was staring at you the whole lunch. When you said 'I love you' I saw jealousy in his eyes."

"Stop kidding. Don't you have any work? Go do it." I heard Jane's voice in the background.

'Who are you talking to?'

'Oli'

'Oh my god! It has been years, give it to me I will talk' now for a few minutes she will forget she has a son. Liam muttered.

"Hi darling, how are you?" She asked excitedly.

"I am fine jane. How are you?"

"I am fine sweetie. I am sorry about your father. I thought of attending funeral but I had a busy schedule. I am really sorry."

"It's okay Jane I can understand."

"How is Lilly and rebecca?" Honestly, I don't know how they are. My mother completely shut down everyone after
father's death, she never talked to me. Rebecca is in her college, no matter how many times I text her she never replies.

"They are fine."

"Come home when you are free, we will spend some time together. It has been long and I miss you."

"Sure Jane"

"Is liam giving you trouble?" I can hear liam protesting in the background.

'Mom she had a guy who looks at her like father always looked at you and she is not accepting that' I gasped this idiot will die.

"Is it? my little girl is all grown now she has boys falling on their knees" I can imagine the teasing smile on her face. I blushed hard.

"Jane NO. Liam is hallucinating" they both started laughing.

"Okay, liam don't tease that poor girl" with that jane left.

"I WILL KILL YOU" he laughed and ended the call. I like Sam too. I don't know why but I don't want to get my hopes high after what happened in school. It is better not to expect anything.
