Did you ever realized that some people who are always cheerful are pretending and are actually masking there tears with the smile?
Olivia's POV:
I woke up at eight in the morning. Dylan will pick me at 10 o'clock . I got up from the bed, took shower and had my breakfast. Exactly at 10 o'clock I went to parking lot where Dylan is waiting for me.
I don't know why but I am little disappointed when I didn't see Sam with him.
"Are you ready princess?" I nodded. We got into car and went to an expensive mall.
'We can't even afford a handkerchief in this mall. How the hell are we going to buy a dress?'
The girl started showing some new collections. I liked everything they are so beautiful. Dylan is doing all the work, he picked few dresses and told me to try but he didn't like any. But a purple dress caught his eye. He immediately asked me to try it. It is a short dress which ends above my knee and has a bow on the waist. I am absolutely in love with this dress.
"Perfect princess. You look beautiful we will take it" the dress looks so expensive and I am afraid of the cost. They packed the dress when I saw the bill I nearly fainted.
"Five hundred dollars" No way! I dragged him.
"That's too expensive we can go to another store and try something which is less expensive" Dylan chuckled.
"This looks really good on you princess. I will definitely take it. Don't worry about the price" how can I not? This is the most expensive dress that I have ever worn in my entire life.
No matter how hard I tried to convince him he didn't listen. He even bought me matching heels.
We were hungry so we went to buy some food. We ordered and started talking about random things. After some time we received our order. Dylan shared his childhood memories, how much fun they had and the things they did. I am laughing so hard.
"You think so high of your best friend don't you? All I saw was him glaring and a stoned face. I never saw him smile."
"This is too little for what he did to me and I will always be grateful to him. I was in second grade and new to the school. I was a very calm and shy boy. People called me mute and bullied me. They threw my lunch box in the trash can and laughed at me. I cried a lot but one day when they were bullying me and throwed my box like everyday Sam came and beat the shit out of them. That little guy who didn't even know who I am saved me. Since then we have been friends. We ate together and he is always by my side. I was happy. He is the first friend I made." He had a smile on his face remembering all the memories.
"My mom always worked hard so that she could take care of me. I don't know who my father is, my mother took care of me. She always came late to pick me from school because she was busy with her work and I am the last person to go home. One day Sam introduced me to his mother. She was so friendly. She came to know about my situation and talked with my mom, from then Kate picked and dropped me at school. She always made sure to send an extra box for me" I can clearly see the pain in his eyes remembering everything. This is the first time I am seeing Dylan in this way, it aches my heart.
"One day I went home after the school. There were many people at my house. I was confused and went inside I was shocked after seeing my mom. She was dead, suicide. It was too much for her, with me and her life. She was unable to handle everything on her own so she thought it is the easiest way to escape from her problems" his voice broke and eyes filled with tears.
"Cops searched for my father but he never showed up. They got to know my mother had a sister she took me along with her but she always thought I was a burden. Kate came to know about the situation and from then she took care of me. She treated me as her own child even now if someone asks her, she says she has four sons. Not only her, Sam and Sam's brothers treated me like their own brother. Kate made sure I am at every family gathering, Christmas, thanksgiving.
Sam is a good guy all you need to do is give him a chance. You will know how good and kindhearted he is" never in my life I thought dylan had such a rough past. He is always cheerful and never showed his pain. All I did was hug him tightly and he hugged me back.
"Don't think you have only Sam and his family. You have me, as a friend who will always be with you in both good and bad" he nodded.
Dylan dropped me and told that he will pick at 7 o'clock.
"Hey bestieeeeeee!" Aah that annoying voice. Liam and Sophie has a smirk on their faces which is creepy.
"What?" I demanded.
"My girl is going on a date with the man of her dreams. I am very happy!" he whipped his imaginary tears. I rolled my eyes.
"You know how lucky you are? You are going on a date with sam. I heard that he never allowed anyone except Julia. Oh my god I am excited and happy for you"she hugged.
"Stop. Firstly it's just a date and he is Sam not some Greek god and it's a fake date. I don't know why you guys are so excited."
"He is a Greek god," Sophie replied.
"Come on, you should get ready."
"It's already 4 p.m., we only have three hours left!" Liam shouted. I took shower, Liam and Sophie helped me with makeup. I am thankful they did not cake my face and did my hair. I wore the dress we bought today.
"You want to keep that?" Soph pointed at my chain.
"Yes. I don't want to remove this, it will always be with me."
"It's beautiful, especially the locket."
"My sister Rebacca gave it to me as a birthday gift." I smiled, she nodded.
***
It's 6:30 p.m. I am ready, we still have thirty minutes. Liam and Sophie are always checking me to make sure everything is perfect.
Exactly at 7 o'clock my phone started ringing.
"Hey princess, are you ready? we are waiting outside." Dylan spoke but all I heard is 'we are waiting' that means Sam is outside. I started feeling nervous. Will he like me? Will he regret asking me to be his date? Will I mess everything? Am I looking good? What if the other girls beautiful? will he leave me for them?
'Stop overthinking Olivia, we are going on a date, it's not like you are marrying him, have some confidence.'
"Go get your first kiss." Liam teased. I glared at him.
