Hunted

Where Am I

"Where am I" Spencer cried out, for the hundredth time. He had been trapped in this bed for days and no one told him what was going on, no one had spoken to him unless asking him if he was feeling any pain. "Please" Spencer whimpered as he relaxed back into the bed, his body limp and sore.

Shutting his eyes, Spencer tried to block everything out of his head but as soon he shut his eyes, all he could see was JJ leaning over him her face bruised with blood coming from her nose it sent shivers down his spine. "Reid" an unknown voice called out shaking him from his thoughts "hmm" he mumbled opening his eyes.

The first thing his eyes landed on was Aaron Hotchner who was standing beside his bed, the sight of his friend made Spencer smile, "Hey Hotch" he said unable to keep the excitement from his voice, "how are you feeling?" Hotch asked and Spence gave him a weak thumbs up. A silence lapped over them and then Hotch meet his gaze "I'm so sorry Reid" he whispered his voice choking as he struggled to say the words.

"For what Hotch?" Spencer asked slightly tilting his head "He sent me emails about how he would kill you, he told me he would run you off the road, I'm so sorry" He whispered again his eyes slightly glistening "it's ok, Hotch I understand why you did it" Spencer said reaching out for a reassuring pat on the agents arm.

"How's JJ" Spencer asked feeling relief flood through him as he asked the question that had been burning a hole through him, "she could be better" Hotch admitted "can I see her" Spencer asked his eyes sparkling at the thought of the blonde.

Hotch shook his head, "Reid, everyone thinks your dead" Hotch said gripping the bed tighter "but I'm not, tell them I'm alive" Reid said confused as he looked at the agent "Hotch what's going on" no response "Hotch" he tried again, "I had no choice" Hotch said "He is still after you, he sent me a video he was the one that stuffed that branch through you, he sent me photos of the scene" Hotch looked up at the doctor "I had to do it, I needed to protect you" he said squeezing Reid's wrist.

"Where am I going" Reid asked finally realising what was happening, it was just like what Hotch had done for Prentiss, he didn't want to put his friends in danger. "I don't know, it's the best that way you have been given a new identity and when we catch this guy you can come home." Hotch said "I should go" he stated unable to look at Spencer's lost face anymore "Hotch wait" Reid called out to the fleeting agent, turning back to face him Hotch looked at Spencer "don't let anything happen to JJ" Spencer's voice was basically a whisper as he spoke and Hotch nodded "I Promise" and with that he was gone, leaving Spencer alone in the white room.
