The sound of dogs barking and teeth ripping through her flesh forced JJ to wake up, she sat up out of the hospital bed, her breathing heavy and the hospital bed sheets clung to her body from all the sweat.
Her room was dark and she ran a hand through her hair feeling tears drip, she had been sent back to her home town where she had been stuck in a hospital while the team stayed in Boston to help catch the son of a bitch who did this.
She hadn't been able to sleep, every time she shut her eyes she would see his face smiling at her and then dogs of all shapes and sizes charging towards with her with that look in there eye.
She shut her eyes feeling her body start to tremble again, and then she felt her blanket move making her tremble even more.
"Mommy" a voice cut through the air and peering over the side of the bed she saw Henry standing there in his pyjamas his eyes wide as he looked at her, his blanket clutched in his hand.
"Hey buddy" she softly forgetting he had been there the whole time "are you ok Mom, do I need to call the nurse" he said walking towards the phone but JJ shook her head "I'm fine sweetie" she said and he looked at her his eyes widening.
"You told me to never lie" he said looking at with eyes filled with worry, she felt an instant pang of guilt that her son could pick up on her terror.
It had been a week and she was tired, broken and terrified "I know how to fix you" Henry said with a little grin and he pulled himself onto the bed, and wrapped his tiny arms around JJ's body.
JJ sunk back down in the pillows and Henry released his arms but stayed next to her "I'm right here Mommy" he whispered and she smiled, as she felt his warm breath on her ear.
But even though Henry had calmed her down, what about the days to come what was she going to do then.
The doctors had finally let her look at her legs and it had been horrifying, teeth marks and blood caked around her legs and there had even been a few dog teeth embedded inside her.
She shuddered next to Henry and she wrapped her arms around him pulling him close, her heavy breath landing on his ear.
