I've been drawing a lot recently and I wanted to have a little spot where I could post it. I draw mostly my own characters, and would love for you to peruse aha.

So I wanted to experiment with Crown Of Thorns'.. "hair", because I felt like I wasn't using it to its fullest potential. Tbh I didn't make them big enough in this drawing, and it's bothering me, but it's too late to fix it ._.

so here we have Crown Of Thorns, or more specifically "Acanthaster Planci". I've been trying to sort out the world building in my story, I didn't know how to reconcile that some characters would depict a single species, and some would represent and entire genera.
Eventually I came to the conclusion that if I'm going to have the lore and world building make sense I'd have to consistently make it one or the other. So, whilst I am still ironing out the details, I decided to just make every character represent one single species (sort of).
As there are in fact four known species of crown of thorns starfish, I have to come up with some designs for the other three, as well as a way to fit them into my story without disturbing the narrative ^_^;

Also as there are two known species of triton snail (with my Triton being based off of the larger one), I just had to give Triton a sibling lol. This is one of the ideas I'd had.

This last one is sort of more of a concept character than anything else. I wanted to have there be a sort of folk religion within my story, which would involve personified versions of various different types of microorganisms (it makes sense in my head).
I admit this drawing is hella choppy; I wasn't really within my right mind when I'd drawn it, and I didn't really have a super clear image of what I wanted.
This isn't going to be the design that I go with, but I thought she was still pretty so here, a rejected concept design of a personified version of a diatom algae cell. Hopefully this won't be the last you'll see of this particular idea because diatoms are really very beautiful, they have cell casings made out of opal, and it would be a waste at this point to give up lol.
