Chapter 15

Hyunjin's Pov

Before finding Felix and after , I learnt to so much. This is your life, and you are going to be both moved and confused by it.

You are going to experience things that will inspire you, and things that you will never quite come to terms with. You are going to love people that you will sometimes lose, but you will also find those who stay.

Appreciate those people, let them know that you care. You are going to laugh until you cry, you are going to ache in ways you never thought possible; you are going to be exhausted by the chaos of it all and ignited by the beauty.

You are going to be hurt, and you are going to hurt. Sometimes you will be the bad person. Sometimes you will be the one who makes the mistake.

Sometimes you will have to give yourself your own closure. Sometimes you will have to let go. Sometimes you will have to find comfort in being alone, in being lost. So I did.

I learnt to love myself step by step , alone , in my own rhythm.
I planted my own garden and decorated my own soul. I learnt to love properly and be a better person for him.
And then , by some miracle , he's back and brought light for my garden of flowers.

-"Hyunjin?"

I zipped up my jacket and turned around to face Felix standing in the door frame.

-"What are you doing at this time in the morning?" he asked me while gently rubbing his eyes.

I took a look at my watch. It was 6 a.m.

-"I'm going for a run. Go back and rest , it won't take long."

-"Wait for me, I wanna come with you." Then Felix disappeared from my sight.

-"Are you sure?" I yelled so he could hear me from the other room.

-"Yes!!"  he replied .

I headed to the front door and placed Felix's shoes on the floor so it would be easier and faster for him.

After 10 minutes, Felix was all done and clean , wearing a white T-shirt and some sweatpants.

-"Let's go!" I said and grabbed him by the hand.

I locked the door with the other hand and then we both walked to the park .

After a good run around the park, Felix stopped to catch a breath. I looked back at him to make sure he is ok. My stamina is pretty stable but I didn't know about his .

-"Are you alright?" I asked Felix while he was supporting himself with his hands on his knees and breathing heavily.

-"I'm fine, I just need a break."

-"Let's go to the pavilion." I suggested.

-"Yeah!"

The air is thick with condensation and a dull roar, much like a snare drum, reverberates across the sky. Trees cower from the harsh wind while leaves soar through the air.

-"We should hurry, it seems like it might rain." I glanced at Felix who looked alright now.

A steady drizzle of rain begins to descend from somber clouds; raindrops landing silently on the pavement. Opaque puddles gather along the crevices and cracks of the soggy ground.

Suddenly I saw Felix sprinting in front of me.

-"Come on, Hyunjin! Hurry up!"

He was all giggling and a big smile appeared on his face.

It melted my heart. I smiled back and started running after him.

For children, rainy days are a sudden break from their busy schedule. They often leave their homework and run to the water because of constant rain.

And I felt like my inner child was at peace.

When we reached the pavilion, we were already drenched.

-"You look like a wet sock." Felix chuckled.

-"WHAT?" I turned to look at him out of shock.
My eyes widened.

-"You heard right!" he replies and laughed.

I rushed at him and started tickling him all over.

-"Hyunjin-" his words were covered by his laugh.

-"Wait- hah!" redness started appearing in his cheeks so I let it go eventually .

-"Now were even!" I replied while brushing my hand trough my wet hair.

We both took a seat and watched as the water dropped to the ground , hitting it.

This is one of the greatest advantages of a rainy day. As it usually occurs in non-monsoon months, it brings relief from the heat of the sun. The air gets cooler and the gust cool breeze could be felt everywhere.

I glanced at Felix's side profile. His features were just so perfect , making him look like an pure angel.

He looked my way and caught me staring at him.

-"You're not watching the rain.." he said.

-"No."

A blush stains his cheeks as he smiles faintly, her expression perplexed.

-"But you love the rain."

-"I love you more." I softly replied while looking him straight into his eyes.

I was close enough to Felix to hear his heartbeat.
My heart begins to pound. I stood there, feeling a desire run from my heart but as nervous as I was feeling, I still made the first step.

With one hand I ran my fingers through his hair and gently guided his face closer to mine.

Felix's face was now red from up to the ears and he quickly closed his eyes like he new it was coming.

I leaned in and kissed him softly, assuring him it's all safe.

I was more conscious of Felix than I had ever been of anything or anyone in my life.

He reminded me of home , of all the simple things in life , of light and love and the reason I'm not alone anymore.

After we pulled out of the kiss , we both giggled.

He turned and placed his head in my lap .I brushed my fingers trough his soft hair while admiring every part of him.

Felix, you painted my life with so much color.You made me realize black no matter how painful and dark , is a color , too.
