Three years had passed and Katharina and I were still updating each other. Katharina became a pre-school teacher and still plays for her band. The only difference is she is in France. Our friend group still doesn't know where Agathe is that time, her parents told us that she'll show up one day and I can't wait to see her. Regina on the other hand was happily married to a guy named Raleigh Laurant. They, apparently, met when Regina went to travel to Italy.

I started to work at my dad's company. Because as the years pass I feel like I should fix my dad and I's relationship. And surprisingly, it worked. Maia and Thadeus are still going strong and were planning to start their own company. Of course, they are nepo babies, so, how hard can it be?

By that year, I now live in Lakesbrough with my father. My mom found someone that can make her life colorful. She was going to be married in March. Mom wanted to invite Dad to her wedding since they didn't have bad blood anymore.

March 11, 2000

"Thaddeus, where is your brother?" My mom asked.

"I'm here, Mom, do I look like I'm going to miss my mom's special day?" I said as I ran to her.

The guests started to stand up as Thadeus and I walked Mom down the aisle. Mom was too emotional about Thaddy and me being there for her wedding. I mean why wouldn't we? She's our mom. And she deserves everything.

Then, I saw a familiar face. I will always recognize those hazel eyes. Agathe was there and it was a special day for me too. We had eye contact and I felt like I was in heaven. She's looking good and it's like nothing has changed. Maia and Regina were there too. Katharina didn't come, she said it was too late when we sent the invitation. Mom was a bit sad about it, but we didn't forget to send her tons of pictures.

The ceremony ended with bliss and at the reception, Agathe and I bumped into each other. I was speechless. She's still the Agathe that we've known for years, she never changed.

"Hi," the first thing that came out of her mouth, "You're looking good, Brahms."

"You too, Aggie..."

And then I didn't think twice to hug her tight, she hugged me back and it felt like home. Regina and Maia spotted us and both of them cheered like they won the world.

"AHHHH! Aggie, we missed you!" Regina screamed and was followed by Maia's shouting. They both hugged Aggie like it was their last.

"I'm still mad at you, Agathe..." Regina started to tell.

"What? Why?"

"See! You don't even know why I'm mad at you!" Jokingly said Regina. "You missed my dream wedding, Aggie. I wish you were there. Oh, let me introduce you to Raleigh..." Regina then introduces her husband to Agathe.

Some things never change, I still can't grab Aggie alone to talk to her. But I let her catch up with her bests friends. They missed her more than I did. I mean, they are childhood best friends after all.

The moon started to show and everyone was having a blast because of the party. Finally, I saw Aggie alone. I tapped her shoulder and asked if she could get out of there. I didn't need to let my mother know. She always knew.

We drove to the place where it was peaceful and quiet. Katharina gave me the keys to her treehouse and let me handle things there, it's kind of ironic knowing it's just a treehouse in the middle of the woods. Agathe's long dress flowed with the wind when we reached the balcony. Her eyes reflected to the moon and her curly hair was tied up.

I gave her the same drink Kath gave me when I first got there. Then, we sat down just to talk. Just talk.

"Where were you? After all this time?" I asked curiously.

"I went to travel. I told my parents I will update them now and then."

"Why didn't you tell us?"

"I just- I'm sorry, for not telling you all. I just wanted to have a new life out there," she said, tears building her beautiful eyes. "I thought, I could live without the people from my past. But I can't. There's this string that connects me with you all, and I can't seem to cut it. I know it might sound crazy, but, it all started after you and Kathy started dating. I just then realized that I liked you. She's a lucky gal. For having you."

"Kath and I, we loved each other."

"Loved?"

"We, um, broke up. Two months after we graduated."

She looked at me with a bit of sadness.

"Katharina said that she love me, but I was in love with you."

There was rage in her face and confusion.

"What? You left my best friend heartbroken just for some stupid reason?"

"Aggie it wasn't stupid, Katharina and I ended our relationship with mutual understanding and there wasn't bad blood. We love each other. We tried to fix it. But... It wasn't for us."

Agathe's face cleared when I told her that Katharina freed me because she wanted me to be happy. It was like Kath just borrowed me.

"So, you're still friends?" Agathe asked.

"Yes, and we still love each other. Just not the love that's romantic," I told Aggie, "and did you know that she's a teacher now?"

"No, really? But she hates kids..." She laughed.

"I know, she is loving there in France. And I think there's a guy involved."

That night I feel like I'm living in a dream, I can't believe I'm looking at the flesh of Aggie.
