Three weeks had passed and Agathe was getting weaker and weaker instead of getting well. I can hear Katharina, Maia, and Regina crying because there are times when Agathe couldn't wake up. Her hair was completely gone, her pink lips turned purple, and her eyes were deep because of eye bags.

She was still doing chemotherapy treatment for her cancer, but she stopped trying when she said that it will only make her more I'll than ever. Her mother couldn't take it. August 24th, 2004, we heard Agathe and Adelaide fighting about the chemo.

"Mom I'm sorry, but I'm dying!"

"You're not! You're going to be okay!"

"I'm tired, Mom. I want to rest. I want to end this."

We ran to check on Agathe and her Mom. Adelaide stormed off out of Agathe's room. Thaddeus, Harry (Maia's husband), and Mathis chased her. Katharina, Regina, Maia, and I went into Aggie's room to talk to her. She was crying so much with her head down.

"I'm sorry, you didn't have to hear that."

"Aggie, please, your Mom is right. Continue the medication. Please...," Maia pleased.

"I'm tired, Maia. I can't. It's been three years. I can't do it anymore, let me go."

"We understand, Aggie. Do what you need to do."

"Thanks, Kitty," Agathe said.

Maia turned to look at Katharina and she was mad about it. Kath pulled her outside to talk while she was sobbing. I was worried about Katharina because it might stress her a lot and she has a baby on her tummy.

"I hope you understand, Brahms."

"I understand. Do what you want to do."

I kissed her on her forehead and closed the door so she can rest. I saw Maia and Katharina argue about what Kath said inside Aggie's room. I was about to go inside to talk to Maia so Kath wouldn't be stressed. Thankfully, Mathis was right on time and so was Harry. Mat assisted Kath out of the room and Harry went inside to talk to Maia.

I went to search for Adelaide and Thaddeus and found them in the garden where Agathe's mother was crying. Thaddeus stood up and whispered: "You need to talk to her.".

I sat down in front of her. And then I just started to talk.

"Your daughter wants to rest."

"She can rest, but she can't die!" She said hysterically.

"She wants to let go now. I want you to imagine how she's feeling. This is the one last favor she's begging to do. I know you love her, but it's time to let go. It's time to end her suffering. And all we can do is to make her days special and memorable before she goes."

Adelaide calmed down but didn't stop crying.

"Okay. I'm going to talk to her."

She stood up and went to her daughter's room. I stayed in the garden. I looked up and started questioning why life is unfair. There was a familiar warmth that hugged me. It was Melissa.

"Everything is going to be alright."

I cried as she held me tight in her arms. Thaddeus and Agathe were right. I am lucky to have her. We went inside to find Harry and Maia sitting down on the floor and holding hands. Both of them looked sad. Maia and Harry were even crying. Thaddeus saw us.

"What's going on?" His loud voice echoed.

The couple looked at us for a second then stood up. Harry grabbed his coat and keys and walked out the door. Maia looked at us with wet eyes.
