The entire group gathered around the dining table, everyone in their unassigned spots. Once Ember emerged from her room the household had all greeted her with warm smiles, but her chosen bachelor earlier reminded everyone they had one last thing to discuss since she was awake. As she slipped into her chair and watched everyone timidly she noticed all eyes were on her, blatantly staring.
Ember's face grew hot. Normally she wouldn't mind being center of attention, but with the intent stares she felt as if she did something wrong. Each man had their own grim expression on their face and seemed to be judging her silently.
"Sooo can someone tell me what we're supposed to be talking about?" Ember broke the silence as the last person got comfortable in their chair.
Sora was the first to chime in. He was leaning forward, hands eagerly on the table with palms facing down. His eyes were wide and showed how curious he was. "So Roxas mentioned something strange that had happened when you woke up."
Ember blinked and tilted her head ever so slightly to the side. "So just so we're clear, the strange part wasn't me jumping out the window?"
Axel had to cover his mouth as to not distract the discussion, yet his laughter was obvious. He was rewarded with an elbow nudge from Roxas, who shot him a glare.
"It's not the window thing no but someone should yell at you for that sure." Sora wearily smiled.
"I already yelled at her when it happened." Roxas muttered to himself as he huffed and crossed his arms with discontent.
"Anyway!" Sora ignored the previous comment. "Apparently you lifted an arm up to the ceiling and some light emerged from your hand. The room was infested with Heartless, but whatever light that came out got rid of all of them. You basically saved yourself."
Ember's brows furrowed. She vaguely did remember seeing a light fading when she woke up. However she didn't have magic. No powers. No special abilities. Just sheer force of will and determination. She couldn't manipulate the power of light.
Ember frowned as Riku chimed in. "You seem confused. You don't have any memory of this happening do you?"
Ember placed her hands in her lap and looked down. She couldn't bring herself to connect eyes with anyone in the room as she felt guilty. She couldn't place why. "I had a strange dream when I was asleep, but that's the only thing I really remember from all that's happened."
Sora seemed intrigued. "A strange dream? Tell me more."
"Well..." Ember thoughtfully placed a finger on her chin. "I was on some mosaic of myself, like a platform. A girl was talking to me but she never said her name. She was talking nonsense, like telling me my heart was broken and shit. The Heartless attacked me in my dream and she said she'd help. That's when I woke up."
"And you've never experienced any magic before that?" Ventus questioned.
Ember simply shook her head and replied with a curt "No."
In an instant Sora snapped his fingers and kicked his chair back to the floor. Everyone seemed taken back by his sudden action as he jumped to his feet and slammed his hands on the table.
"Ya know I think I know what you're talking about!" He said ambitiously. "It was probably Namine!"
Roxas' expression was the most responsive as his eyebrows lifted and his eyes widened. However most of the room seemed to know exactly who this person was, leaving Ember bewildered. Each of their facial expressions gave it away.
"Who's that?" She finally asked as the boys began to murmer to themselves.
"Another Nobody." Sora explained.
