A new heat was felt near her neck, but this time Ember felt a burning sensation at her throat. She slowly turned her head back to her front where she noticed Xemnas's blade hovering threateningly. Time went to a stand still, where Vanitas stared in disbelief from only a few feet away. Sora and Riku who were originally fighting Xemnas were left on the upper level, gaping from over the railing. That left the last three, where even Larxene had halted in her tracks from fighting the twins. The room fell eerily silent as Ember's hostage situation made all quiet.
But not for long. "I looked everywhere for you!"
Axel came barreling out from a portal after waiting all that time for the castle to fall. When nothing came from it, he finally went searching and merged with everyone else. As he exited and spoke loudly, Vanitas grabbed the back of his collar and dragged him back before he was able to get too close. It took Axel much too long to realize the situation, and with Vanitas's actions he finally understood.
"Oopsie." Ember sheepishly said with an awkward smile. It quickly faltered when Xemnas used his free hand to squeeze the back of her neck and ultimately silenced her.
"That is enough." Xemnas growled. For one who claimed to lack a heart, he certainly sounded grim. "You have slaughtered my Organization or brain washed them. Now I need to start all over again."
Ember side eyed him to gain even a mere glimpse of his face. "Starting with me I bet."
She was unsure how to handle the situation. The boys were stunned and frozen in place, worried that their words would escalate things. Ember figured she would attempt to handle it instead, but even she was lacking ideas. Xemnas's end game was likely to kill her anyway, so she was aware that she had to tread lightly.
"Sir..." Much to everyone's surprise Larxene spoke, her voice low and grumbling. She spoke from afar, beyond the others but she was still beard quite well with the silence. "You can't kill her yet, use her a leverage for now."
Xemnas lifted his eyes to his subordinate, displeasure crossing his face at her suggestion. "How dare you order me around. I will do with her as I please."
"Which is what, exactly?" Ember asked sheepishly. "What's your plan here? You're gonna kill me anyway I'm sure."
Xemnas straightened his back, his eyes scanning the room. Ember felt the pressure on her neck release as his hand tickled around to her chin. His fingers caressed her jawline, and Ember tightened her muscles from the uncomfortable sensation. He continued to tease her in that threatening way, and Ember observed the boys angrily clenching their weapons or taking a step forward.
"I have no intentions of killing you, even if you did slaughter my people."
Ember lifted a brow. "No?"
"No. What I'm about to do to you I want to make sure all your friends are watching."
His fingers left her chin, and she watched as his arm extended to his side. He manifested a portal in the air, giving the individual no other choice but to fall through. Ember winced as the person clashed with the metal ground, but her expression fell as she immediately recognized them. Her blood ran cold yet the heat from Xemnas's blade still warmed her face in a not so pleasant way. Ember was forced to stand still despite her pounding heart and the urge to go running.
"Namine?!"
Those who recognized the girl all called out her name with a mixture of confusion and surprise, all caught off guard by her sudden presence. Namine winced at the sudden drop and held her head as she sat up. Her sky blue eyes shifted as she was center of attention; a position she did not prefer. With her legs tucked she used an arm to hold her upper body in place as she connected eyes with her captor. Namine flinched at his cold stare, but held his gaze nonetheless.
