Ember's breath shook violently as her eyes darted around the battlefield. All was still with not a soul moving. The Unversed had been fated to die in the attack, leaving only humans to lie on the still earth. The sun was rising on the horizon, shedding only a shred of light among the battlefield to show off just how much destruction everyone had caused. Craters from impact, blood splattered, and clothes torn littered the barren wasteland with only the slight gust of wind making any sort of motion.

That was until Xehanort began to push himself to his feet.

Ember slowly turned her attention towards him, her body shaking with such vexation she almost couldn't think straight. Her friends were all either unconscious or worse... Dead. Because of him. That monster of darkness caused all this mayhem and demolition. He was still alive, pushing himself to his feet and causing such rage inside Ember the ground beneath her feet cracked without her intending it so. The anger and resentment she pushed aside had returned at the sight and once again she felt livid towards such a disgusting piece of shit.

"Oh a shame... You're still standing." Xehanort groaned. He began to stretch his body as if shaking off his own injuries, and Ember stiffened. "I guess I'll just have to deal with this one last pest."

Ember's fingernails dug so hard inside her palm she felt herself bleeding. Her eyes began to wander quickly to her friends, realizing that not one was even twitching to show any signs of survival. It was as if her vision was blurred, not from tears but from consternation. She desperately wanted to run to their aid and ensure their safety but with Xehanort standing there she couldn't. She had to face him.

"I... Will... Fucking... Kill... You..." Ember said her words with a pause between each one, every word becoming more and more poisonous than the last.

Xehanort was weak, she could take him. She didn't have a choice.

He seemed amused by her resolve as a grin began to plaster on his face. "You're too late! Look at your friends! If anyone deserved to die it was you. You came here to kill me or yourself and you didn't succeed in either scenario. You fool!"

Ember clenched her teeth together as the cracks beneath her feet began to spread at a rapid pace. She was about to lose control, she was aware. She had to maintain distance in case anyone else was alive. Ember began to speed walk towards Xehanort, somehow still holding her sword in her hand as it wasn't lost during the impact. As she closed the gap between her and the Master of Darkness he was preparing for her arrival as he too held his weapon in hand.

"You... Killed them." Ember spat, each step creating more cracks than the last. "Eraqus sacrificed himself to keep me alive."

"You have a role to fulfill then hm?" Xehanort taunted deviously. "You don't want to fail the poor Master and leave his sacrifice in vain."

Ember's heart was pounding, causing an ache in her chest. Her breath was hoarse and her head was spinning, her multiple ailments making it difficult to even process what he was taunting her over. Ember told herself the entirety of the battle that she had to finish it, but now she really had to finish it. She had no other option.

"You hurt my friends... You kidnapped Ventus, wiped his memory, abused him and Vanitas and caused mayhem and destruction with every breath you took. I think it's time you paid for what you've done."

Ember halted as she was mere feet away from Xehanort and she could see him up close with the shine from the sun causing him to glow from behind. He was injured, filthy and scowling as they were both preparing to face off. The tension in the air grew as Ember could feel her wrath grow with each passing second.

"And I think you've outlived your usefulness." Xehanort sneered. "The other pests have been dealt with, you can join them."

Pests.

They were not pests.

Ember's fury was overwhelming even for herself. Her body radiated heat and just from her emotions alone she was sweating. With his words fuming in her mind a rush of destruction emitted from her body as she crushed the ground beneath her and Xehanort. Ember could only imagine he expected such an endeavor, however what he didn't expect was for Ember's destruction to go as far as creating an opening in the ground and swallowing them both whole.

Ember fended for herself as she fell, ensuring to land on a larger rock to ride down the slope she manifested. Xehanort attempted to do the same but failed miserably, his hands grasping at nothing while plunging into the enormous crater Ember created. She saw him grasp a larger rock only for Ember to extend her ability like a spider web and shattered his attempt at salvation, forcing him to collapse onto the ground with rocks tumbling on top of him. Ember's ride slowed down once reaching the bottom and she lept off of it, rushing towards the pile where Xehanort laid. She had to get to him in case he survived and emerged.

As Ember closed the gap she was too late. A blast of a dark bolt shot through the debris and such a force left Ember tumbling on her back. Xehanort coughed and spluttered as he forced his way through, shoving stone and rock out of his way so he could begin to stand. Ember sat up and glared. Could nothing kill this guy?

"You... Are certainly... A fool..." Xehanort wheezed, his voice hoarse and weak. "You'll never win. Darkness... Will prevail."

Ember pushed herself to stand. Xehanort was especially weak now, he could barely talk. She had to use this to her advantage, she had to go in there and defeat him. Ember reminded herself to use her power at his slightest touch and not to let him distract or confuse her.

"Yeah yeah blah blah shut up!" Ember snapped with such disgust she wanted to throw up. "Let's see how much darkness will protect you when I'm through with you!"

Once again Ember shot out her power in physical form, projecting cracks through the air towards her target. Despite his weak state Xehanort showed no issues dodging the attack and darting towards her with such speed Ember couldn't keep up. Even after she told herself she wouldn't miss a beat and wouldn't forget to use her power at the slightest touch she found herself with enormous pain across her chest as Xehanort slashed his blade at her. She could feel the burn of pain across her body as she was sent flying backwards, only gravity stopping her. She fell and spun on the dirt and skidded to a halt and curled into a fetal position.

Ember heard rapid footsteps approaching and instinctly she lifted her head and arm which held her sword. She slashed her weapon to block Xehanort's attempted attack and used her other arm to shoot another web of cracks towards him. Xehanort created a shadow to block such an attack before it could reach him and that gave Ember time to scramble to her feet. Both parties were panting heavily, eyes filled with such animosity it was a surprise that looks couldn't kill.

Ember almost lost all sense of self control. As she was able to stare at him for that brief moment she found the rage boiling inside her. She knew she needed to be calm and she knew she should think rationally. But she couldn't. That monster hurt her friends, possibly killed them. What if they're dead? She created a large battlefield to annihilate Xehanort and she damn well was going to use it.

With no warning Ember darted for Xehanort, her arms and body flailing and twisting in several almost inhuman ways. Her sword swung so fast she could hear it's twing as it soared through the air, just barely missing Xehanort as he dodged her attempted attacks.

Ember would stop at nothing to finish off that bastard.
