Every thing seemed to stop. Miguel and Miles stopped wrestling. Peter and Gwen stopped yelling entirely. Miguel had his head turned over his shoulder and stared at you with wide eyes and his mouth dropped open in horror. Your breathing picked up as you brought a gloved hand to your face, then brought it down in front of your eyes to see your light gray glove a dark red color.
Then your pretty sure you blacked out for a second, because everything went black and you felt your grip on the train loosen. When your eyes were squinting open and closed you could see that Gwen had shot a web at your chest, holding onto to your limp body with one hand while the other clung to the train. Your hearing went in and out.
"Y/N!"
"Miguel what did you do-"
"This-"
"...to far!"
"She's bleeding pretty bad!"
"...knocked her out!"
You could only hear snippets of sentences being shouted between the others. You slowly started to come out of it as you grabbed the web on your chest as Gwen and Peter were both tugging you towards them. When you were close enough, Gwen grabbed your shoulders and sat you up, wind blowing hair loose around your face wildly.
"Y/N! Hey! Look at me! Are you-," but she didn't finish, because Miguel shoved her aside roughly. Peter and Gwen have eachother a look and turned back to Miles who was staring in shock down at you, his body still smashed into the train.
"Fuck-" Miguel cursed as his eyes scanned your face. "Oh sweetheart I'm sorry I-" he reached a hand out to try to grab your chin, and you flinched away from him, scooting back slightly. Miguel stopped reaching for your face, his face sad and shocked as the flinch you made towards him didn't go unnoticed.
"I didn't mean too. I- you know I would never hurt you on purpose, right?" Miguel almost pleaded with you, as he ducked his head to meet your downcast eyes that were watching blood splat against the train below your legs.
"I- I know-" you whispered quietly, still not looking at him, as tears were running down your cheeks, some of them seeping into your cut and burning your skin.
You heard him sigh quietly. "Lila! Lila scan her please. Right now," he demanded.
"On it," you heard her squeaky voice say. You were blinded momentarily as a mini lazer scanned your face.
"She's got a broken nose and a pretty deep laceration on her cheek." Lila reported.
"Shit."
You suddenly looked up past Miguel to see Gwen yelling at Miles as he flew off the train, headed for the Spider Society building. Miguel watched Miles with anger in his eyes. He turned back to your bleeding face. He looked at you with a torn expression. You looked into his eyes.
"Just go. I can't stop you and you won't listen to me anyways," you said quietly. Miguel continued to stare at you. He looked to Gwen over his shoulder. "Gwen! Take her to the Medbay!"
He turned back to you and put both of his hands on the side of your face, leaning in closer to you. "I'm so sorry," he whispered to you quietly, staring at you with regret in his eyes. He gazed at you for a little bit longer before leaping off the side of the train after Miles. You watched after him sadly. You felt Gwen slide down next to you as she grabbed your arm, tugging it. "Come on let's-"
"No," you stated.
"What? Y/N your bleeding everywhere and-,"
"I'll be fine. We need to go get Miles home. Right now, I'm done with all this shit," you stared at her fiercely. She looked back at you, surprise covering her face, but she nodded. You gave your nose one last painful wipe as you all leapt off the train, speeding after Miguel.
"Where did Miles go?" Gwen yelled, her eyes liking around wildly.
"Well, I kinda taught him to be invinsible," Peter said proudly next to you.
You finally all reached the Spider Society entrance, hearing crashes and alarms crying in floors above you.
"Come on!" You waved your hand at them.
You ran and swung up flight after flight of stairs and collums, just in time to see Miguel clawing his way into the door that held the Go Home robot behind it. He's getting away.
Miguel finally busted in the door, barelling in, you running in after him.
"Stop him!" He yelled.
"Man what does it look like I'm doing!" Margo yelled at him as her avatar frantically ran in between the consoles. You looked ahead to see Miles blurry figure being wrapped up in the robot's cocoon of glitchy webs.
"Miguel!" Gwen screamed as he leapt onto the holographic webs surrounding Miles. He dug his claws in, and you could see Miles scared expression. Miguel's claws started to slowly rip a tear in the shield. Your eyes flicked over to Margo, who had the system rebooted, ready to shut it all down. All she had to press was "yes".
"Margo!" You whisper shouted. Her finger drew back a little from the "yes" button as she her head cocked to you.
"Let him go," you said simply. She didn't nod or anything in return but just stared at you before turning back to the screen before her. But she didn't press "yes" or "no". She just let it run. You looked up to see Miles smiling at her and then at you through the colors of the web. There was a flash, and Miles was gone. He's home, you thought sighing.
Miguel stood breathing heavily on the platform Miles was just on infront of him. He's gonna be so, so livid. A small robot slunk up next to him, scanning his DNA, ready to send Miguel home. Miguel lunged out and tore it apart.
"It's not the consoles fault!" Peter yelled. You turned to see that Jess had finally caught up with the group.
"Why-why didn't he listen! All he had to do was listen" Miguel seethed, his shoulders hunching.
"Let me just talk to him-," Gwen tried.
Miguel slung himself over the gap in the platforms to roughly land in front of her.
"We already tried that." He said shoving past her.
"He's my friend!"
"Yeah? And that's the damn problem."
"Do you even know what happens for certain if he breaks the canon?" Gwen threw her arms out in frustration. Shit. Too far.
His head bent up quickly, and he turned to her, his eyes a deep red now. "You wanna find out?"
He started backing her up to the edge of the platform. "Y/N, I told you she was a bad idea. We should've let the vulture have her."
"Miguel! Leave her out of this!" You said harshly, moving towards Gwen.
"Your wrong!" Gwen said. "And I'm not coming with you guys."
"Your right." Miguel said sharply.
"Wha-," Gwen started to say, but suddenly the Go Home robot was reaching its arms at her pulling her off the platform.
"Gwen!" You screamed.
"Come on," Miguel said to you gently, putting a hand on your shoulder.
No. Your not losing another daughter. Sure, Gwen wasn't technically yours, but she was to you anyway. And you weren't losing her like you did Miguel's daughter. Not this time. You watched in horror as it pulled Gwen onto the platform, her desperately crying out for you, and clawing at the arms trapping her in. You looked up to Miguel, who was looking ahead, tugging you along. This was gonna hurt him, and it was gonna hurt you, but Gwen needed you and you couldn't leave her. You would see him again at some point, right? And god, were you going to miss him. But you had to go.
You swiftly ducked under Miguel's arm, him shouting after you as you sprinted to the end of the platform, shooting webs on either side of the wall, crossing your wrists, so the webs would lift you right into the slowly closing hole at the top of Gwen's cocoon. You were about to shoot off as you felt a hand snag your ankle. You craned your neck around to see Miguel.
"Y/N! Wh-what are you doing!" He yelled at you, and for once, Miguel O'Hara looked scared. Scared to lose you.
"I'm not losing another daughter!" Your voice said shakily as you grasped the webs wrapped wound your fists. Miguel's mouth dropped open slightly as his eyes widened. He slid his hand farther up your ankle.
"Dont- don't leave. Stay. Stay with me. Please," he begged. And god, you almost let go of your webs, you felt your grip loosen. But you turned to see Gwen's pleading expression and you remembered the sharp pain in your nose, and you couldn't. You couldn't stay, even though it hurt.
"Miguel I- I have to go. You gotta- you gotta let me go, please," you said, holding back tears. He just stared up at you with the most shattered expression. You shook your ankle gently, and Miguel's grip loosened. He looked down at his hands, like he did when his daughter disappeared. You finally swung upwards and landed beside Gwen.
"Y/N!" She cried, hugging you.
"I'm not leaving you," you whispered, hugging her back. You pulled apart and faced the other platform. You stood yourself in front of Gwen, just in case, as you met Miguel's eyes through the holographic wall.
He looked broken.
