~ 2 years before the events of ATSV
"Y/N!" Gabby yelled in your ear as she tugged the covers off you. You groaned loudly trying to tug the covers back over yourself.
"Get up! I wanna go to the beach, it's Saturday!" Gabby whined.
"Good point, so let me sleep," you said turning over. Gabby must've given up because there was no more tugging or yelling. Peace and quiet.
A pillow to your head quickly ended the solace. You sprung up this time and caught the pillow before it hit you a second time. Gabby was laughing, standing next to your bed in one of Miguel's shirts, which just brushed past her tiny knees.
"Cant you go do this to your Dad-"
"Oh, she already has."
You looked up from your white-knuckled grasp on the pillow to see Miguel leaning in the doorway of the guest bedroom you basically lived in now, in a white t-shirt and shorts, his hair frazzled and his eyes tired. You scoffed at him.
"I bet this was all your idea."
Miguel put his hands up in defense. "Oh no it was all Gabby-"
"Daddy! Stop lying! You told me too do it!" Gabby giggled.
"Traitor," he said as he rolled his eyes.
"Can we go to the beach now? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," Gabby cried out, putting down her pillow and looking at you with a pitiful expression.
"Fine," you said as your hands dragged down your face. "But I think you'll have to carry me there, Gabs."
"What! I'm too small-"
"Here let's test it out," you said as you moved toward her, acting like your were gonna throw your body on her to hold up. Gabby squealed as she backed away.
"Nah, I'm just kidding. Go get ready I'll be out there in ten," you said as you ruffled her already crazy hair.
"Yay!" Gabby ran out of the room to change. You stood out of bed to see Miguel still standing in your doorway with a small smile on his face. You raised an eyebrow at him.
"What?"
He shrugged. "Nothing, your just good with her," he said before he slid off the doorframe and walked down the hall.
You felt a small blush creep up on your cheeks and blood rush your ears, but you quickly busied yourself with changing into a swimsuit.
————-
You slid out of the passenger seat of Miguel's car, putting on your sunglasses. You stared at the shiny waves at the ocean before you and listened to the calls of seagulls, before turning to Gabby's backseat door. You were about to reach the handle, when Gabby threw open the door and sprinted past you.
"Hey- Gabby! You didn't let me put suncreen on you! Rascal!" You yelled after her.
Miguel walked over next to you, carrying the beach bag with his own sunglasses on."She'll be fine for a little while," he said to you before cupping his hands around his mouth to yell at Gabby. "Gabriella! Stay where we can see you!"
Miguel turned back to you. "Come on," he said as he nodded his head toward the beach.
You made your way over to where Gabby had waded into the water, you and Miguel setting down your stuff.
"Hey! Get over here so you don't burn! You have a game tomorrow, and I don't need you getting more burnt," you said as you got some sunscreen out. Gabby groaned at you before waking over to you, dragging her feet dramatically.
"Wait! Can you put my hair in a pony first?" Gabby asked, holding out a rubber band for you.
"Yes ma'am, now get your rear over here." Gabby stepped in front of your with her back turned, and you threw her dark hair into a ponytail, and then started rubbing in sunscreen for her. You turned her around to face you as your started doing her face, but the fact that Miguel just slid off his tank-top did not go unnoticed out to the corner of your eye.
Damn. You stared (obviously, in a very very respectful way...no you weren't dont even lie).
Your hands had slowed on Gabby's face, and she followed your eyes, and then turned back to you with a confused face.
"Why are you staring at Daddy like you wanna-,"
"HEY! Hey! You wanna make a sandcastle?" You cut in quickly, prying your eyes away from Miguel's body, thanking the lord he did not hear Gabby's comment.
Gabby's eyes lit up, forgetting about what almost just embarrassed the shit out of you.
"Sure!" She said.
You laughed nervously. "Haha, great."
You plopped down with Gabby, fighting your eyes to stay trained on the sand before you and not on Miguel, who was right next to you, sitting in a beach chair.
"Okay so how do we do this?" You asked Gabby, scooping up sand and letting it sift through your fingers.
Gabby's face scrunched. "Have you never been to the beach before?"
You swallowed thickly and looked down at the sand in your hands. "Uh, I used to go a lot with my Aunt when I was a kid. A long, long time ago."
"I should meet her sometime!" Gabby said excitedly.
"Oh-I don't think- I wish you could. You would've really liked her-,"
"Would've?" Gabby questioned.
"Um-"
"Hey Gabs, I think I just saw a dolphin." Miguel cut you off.
Gabby's head snapped to the sea. "Really Daddy! Where?" She stood up and made fake binoculars around her eyes, searching for the fake dolphin. You looked up at Miguel through your shades.
"Thanks," you said quietly.
Miguel shrugged, as Gabby sat back down in front of you.
"Ah, sorry Gabs, missed it." Miguel said to her.
"Thats okay. Okay, so first we need to get some water to make the sand wet." Gabby instructed you.
"Got it," you said as you leaned over and grabbed a bucket from your beach stuff. Gabby stood up and skipped toward the water, and you followed.
"Here, scoop some up-" Gabby started, but you had an idea.
"Gabby. I have an idea," she grinned at you devilishly, as you leaned in to whisper your plan into your ear.
————-
You and Gabby strutted back up to your spot on the beach, when Miguel was still sitting, his hands behind his head. You told Gabby to act as normal as possible, and she was holding it together well as she heaved the full water bucket in her arms. She walked right up to him.
"Yes?" He asked, tilting his sunglasses down. Gabby didn't answer but instead hurled the water bucket at him, drenching him. He shot uo in his chair and gasped, his sunglasses falling off. You and Gabby started dying of laughter. Gabby was laughing so hard she was rolling around in the sand, and you were double over. You stood back up to see Miguel glaring at you.
"Hey! That was fair payback from this morning- Hey! Hey!" You started shouting as Miguel literally started charging at you. You took of running towards the ocean. Yelling over your shoulder.
"I'm sorry! Okay? HEY I SAID I WAS SORRY!" You ran backwards a few steps, which Miguel took the opportunity to grab you and lift you up over his shoulder. You pounded your fists on his back and kicked your legs.
"Put me down!"
"Not happening," he growled as he stalked into the ocean.
"Daddy! Let Y/N go!" Gabby yelled behind you, giggling slightly.
Miguel suddenly plucked you off his shoulder and threw you into the water. You let out a yell, before you sunk into the water. You sat up in the water, gasping for air and looking around wildly. You eyes landed on Miguel who stood in front of you, his arms crossed and with a stupid smirk. Gabby was standing next to him, her hands covering her grinning mouth.
"Miguel O'Hara! That was totally uncool!" You said pointing an accusatory finger at him.
He shrugged. "Seems fair to me, sweetheart."
You stood up, dripping with water. You stepped towards him. He looked down at you, still smirking. He bent his head down and tilted it.
"Can I help you-," was all he got out before you kicked his legs out from under him. You weren't technically supposed to use any Spidey skills in public, but this was very justified. He fell backwards into the blue water and Gabby squealed. Miguel sat up in the water and you put a hand on your hip with a shit eating grin plastered on your face.
"Did I just use one of your own moves against you? Yes, yes I did."
Miguel huffed, rolling his eyes. He stood up and slicked his wet hair back. "Fine, fine. We're even now," he stuck his hand out to you to shake. You eyes it suspiciously.
"Hm. Let me talk with my associate," you waved Gabby over. She grinned excitedly as she scurried over. You leaned down to her.
"No mercy," you whispered to her.
"No mercy," she repeated. You and Gabby spun back around to Miguel.
"Me and my associate have decided you deserve relentless shoves into the water," you said in a professional tone, sticking your nose up, and seeing Gabby copying your stance next to you.
Miguel put his big hands up. "Oh, come on guys, let's be realistic-,"
"Get him!" You yelled as you and Gabby ran after him in the water, all of you laughing.
