Aya sat atop the roof of the Royal Palace, staring up at the night sky. Watching the stars. She was thinking. About the invasion. About King Dail. About Neera.
"Aya? That you?" The sound of Neera's voice filled the air.
"Yeah. It's me," Aya said. She glanced back at Neera, and then went back to staring at the sky. Neera sat down next Aya, and joined her at staring up at the sky, "Is King Dail okay?" Aya asked, looking at Neera.
"Yes, he's okay. Just resting. Most of his injuries weren't too deep. If we hadn't gotten there sooner, he probably would've died," Neera said, placing a hand on Aya's shoulder, "You did good, carrying him back."
Aya blushed and looked away, "Yeah," She mumbled.
"Are you okay?" Neera asked, a small frown on her face, "You're my friend, I'm always willing to listen."
"I..." Aya glanced at Neera, and sighed, "I failed. I couldn't protect King Dail. I couldn't protect myself. I couldn't even protect you," She crossed her arms and looked down at her lap.
"You didn't fail. You haven't failed. Look, King Dail is still alive, and so are you, and so am I," Neera tried to comfort Aya. She reached down and softly grabbed Aya's hand, "You fought well, you really did."
"Thank you, you did well too," Aya said, leaning over and resting her head on Neera's shoulder. Aya blushed heavily, "Did you mean it when you called me your girlfriend?"
"Yes, I did," Neera smiled and looked down at Aya, "Here. Let me prove it," She leaned down and gave Aya a kiss on the cheek.
Aya blushed heavily and sat up, "G-gosh...really? I uhm...uh...I...uh-!"
"Oh shut up," Neera grabbed onto Aya's hands and pulled her into a kiss.
"MMph-!" Aya blushed, but leaned into the kiss. It was blissful moment, the entire world seemed to come to a standstill as they kissed. All of Aya's worries melted away. Brevon's invasion, the health of Dail, her own self-worth, her stresses, her anxieties, all gone. And then she was dropped back to reality, as the sounds of giggling could be heard behind them. Aya and Neera instantly pulled out of the kiss.
Aya glanced behind them to see Lilac, Carol, and Milla standing there. They all burst into laughter.
Aya squealed and covered her face, "Oh my gosh!"
"Is she any good?" Carol teased, laughing at the two.
Neera stood up and stepped over to Carol, poking her chest, "My relationship with Aya is none of your concern!" She blushed a bit, "But...yeah she's pretty good."
Lilac giggled a bit, "Sorry, we probably should give you some privacy," She lightly punched Carol in the shoulder, "Told you!" She hissed.
Carol shrugged, "Whatever, let's give these two lovebirds some time," Carol giggled as the group went back inside, leaving Aya and Neera on the roof alone.
Aya stood up and looked at Neera, blushing before pushing past her and going inside.
Neera smiled a bit, a small pink tinge showing on her cheeks.
