Chapter Twelve: Plucking a Thorn

Aya and Neera were sprinting down the hallway, taking out Brevon drones as they went. A particularly nasty group of Brevon Drones ambushed the two. Aya was grabbed from behind, being taken captive in its arms, "NEERA!" Aya shrieked for help, struggling to get free. Neera gasped and spun around, grabbing her frost spear and throwing it forward, piercing through the Brevon Drone's glass dome, instantly destroying it. As the Brevon Drone dropped to the ground, Aya quickly hurried away from it, and into Neera's arms. She hugged Neera close, panting quietly as they hugged.

"I've got you, you're okay," Neera pulled out of the hug and grabbed onto her frost spear, yanking it out of the Brevon Drone, "But we've got a mission to finish, affection can wait till after we're done here."

"You're right, sorry," Aya blushed and nervously kicked at the ground. As Neera passed, she smiled and softly placed a kiss on Aya's cheek, "Aw, I love- wait," Aya stopped herself mid sentence. Her ears perked up, as she heard the familiar voice of the one who had brainwashed her. Serpentine. Aya looked over at Neera, "It's serpentine. He's just around the corner," Aya peeked her head around the corner, and was correct. Serpentine was standing, slithering, there, his back turned to them.

"Aya, I've got an idea," Neera stepped over to the corpse of the Brevon drone and kneeled down, grabbing a pair of electric hand cuffs, and throwing them to Aya, "Put these on me."

"What're we doing-?"

"Just go with it," Neera said.

"General Serpentine, I have caught one of the intruders."

A familiar voice surprised Serpentine. He turned around to see that Aya, the newest member of Brevon's armada had somehow managed to not only capture, but defeat the most skilled of the rebel's soldiers. Aya stood there, her hand on Neera's shoulder, forcing Neera forward and onto her knees at Serpentine's...feet?

"AH!" Good job, commander Aya!" Serpentine chuckled and leaned down, grabbing onto the back of Neera's head and yanking her hair back, forcing the panda to look up at him, "How poetic! To have the most powerful soldier of the chasers be taken down by her own girlfriend," Serpentine mocked, getting his face closer to Neera's.

Aya tried her hardest to restrain herself as she saw Neera be treated like this.  She hated it.She wanted to blow a hole right through Serpentine's skull. 

Neera gritted her teeth and winced as she felt her hair be yanked on, "I'm not a chaser," Neera whispered.

"What was that? You're not a chaser? Well, then I think I know what you are. You're a stupid, idiotic, pathetic rebel, who thinks that she alone can stop Brevon. How pathetic!" Serpentine shouted at Neera, before letting go of her hair and turning away from the two.

"I'm not alone," Neera said, yelling at Serpentine's back.

"Oh, then what other pathetic vermin is on your side?!" Serpentine shouted, not bothering to turn behind him.

"Behind you," Aya said.

Serpentine whirled around to realize he was now face to face with the barrel of Aya's laser cannon.

"Where is Brevon?" Aya pushed the barrel of her cannon against Serpentine's face.

"TRAITOR!" Serpentine squealed, "HOW DID YOU-? I'LL NEVER TELL!" He shrieked. He was frozen in fear, knowing that if he tried to run, he'd be cooked.

"If you say so," Aya tightened her grip on her cannon, and started to pull the trigger. The end of the barrel glowed brighter, as a small ball of plasma could be seen charging in the barrel.

"OKAY OKAY I'LL TELL!" Serpentine squealed, raising his hands in surrender, "He's in the engine room, he's fighting the chasers!" Serpentine whimpered.

"Good," Aya slammed her laser cannon into the side of Serpentine's head, which pushed him into the wall. He slid down the wall and crawled against it, now pinned.

"THAT HURT! I TOLD YOU WHAT YOU WANTED!" Serpentine shrieked.

"Coward," Aya raised her laser cannon and placed it against Serpentine's forehead, "You will never live to see another day. You will die, never knowing whether or not Brevon succeeded in his mission. But I do know what happens next. Brevon loses. You lose. Game over, Serpentine," And she pulled the trigger.
