What if Juliet were never a Capulet
Nor Romeo a Montague?
Would they still be together ?
Living happily ever after?
What if Eurydice never looked back
While Orpheus made it back
From the depths of the Underworld
To the Earth along with her?
What if Catherine had chosen Heathcliff
Instead of becoming the wife of Edward?
What if Daisy had never married
But waited for Gatsby instead?
What if Hazel and Augustus never had cancer?
What if there was no fault in their stars?
What if our heroes lived happily ever after?
No more longing for one another.
No more falling into the deep agony or loss.
Only their happily ever after
Full of families and children.
Would they still be called the heroes of their own stories?
