The next day, Stoick is giving orders to other vikings. Meryl and Goofball were in the middle of a small crowd of kids asking her questions.

Stoick: Stand the elk up in the back. The fishing boats just came in with a big catch.

???: Stoick!

A old man, known as Mildew walks over to Stoick.

Gobber: Ah, here's Mildew with the complaint of the day.

Stoick: ( to Mildew: ) You picked a bad time, Mildew. I'm in the middle of storing food. The freeze is coming.

Mildew: It's the dragons again. Those demons and the Scalewalker are not fit to live among civilized men.

Meryl: ( not liking what Mildew is saying ) ( to the kids: ) Okay, kids, let's cover our ears so you don't have to hear the, um, mean things Mildew is saying.

The kids then covered their ears like Meryl suggested, Meryl then covered the ears of the one kid that wasn't covering his ears.

Gobber: Neither are you, Mildew. Why do you think we built your house so far outside of town?

Mildew: Ah, very well, make your jokes. Meanwhile these dragons upend our village carts! Turns people's houses into piles of rumble.

Viking man #1: Mildew's right!

Mildew: They even disturb an old man's rest! Can't you see the bags under me eyes?

Viking man #2: Go on, Mildew!

Gobber: He's right, he's hideous.

Mildew: These are wild and unpredictable beasts!

Meryl then frowned by how the Vikings were acting, Goofball whines. Meryl then began leading the kids and Goofball away from the crowd of Vikings, as she didn't want to be or want the kids and her dragon around the adults as Mildew was complaining about the dragons and forming a mob. Hiccup then went to intervene and calm everyone down.

Hiccup: ( to the crowd of Vikings: ) They don't mean any harm. They're just dragons being dragons and Meryl is just being herself.

Stoick: Look, Mildew, if there's a problem I'll deal with it.

Mildew: Oh, there is a problem, Stoick. And I think I speak for everyone when I say you better do something about it.

( The next day )

Meryl and Goofball walked out of their house, Meryl was carrying the mysterious dragon egg in a satchel again. She then joins the other riders as they watched Hiccup struggle trying to control the chaos, on an abandoned catapult.

Snotlout: What's he doing?

Tuffnut: Uh, I think he's helping the dragons break stuff.

Ruffnut: Cool!

Hiccup tries to put out a flaming sheep, but the sheep just hops right over him, knocking him over.
