Meryl was at the academy with Goofball and Evergreen, and was training Evergreen some simple commands.
Meryl: Sit.
Goofball sits, and Evergreen follows his example and sits.
Meryl: Good. Lay down.
The two dragons laid down, making Meryl smiled.
Meryl: Good.
Evergreen whines as she sees two dragons fly past them in the distance.
Meryl: ( to Evergreen: ) It's okay, girl. You'll learn how to fly someday.
The dragon riders then came back to the academy...with a baby dragon, causing Evergreen to become curious about the new baby dragon.

Meryl: ( to the riders: ) Oh, please tell me you guys didn't steal another dragon egg and try to give it to a chicken.
Hiccup: No. We found him in the forest.
Goofball and Evergreen sniffed at the baby dragon curiously.
Fishlegs: This is so exciting! It's a whole new species!
Tuffnut: Doesn't look like a flaming squirrel to me.
Fishlegs: We have no idea what it's capable of! There's no telling what it might do.
Tuffnut gets in the baby dragon's face.
Tuffnut: Flame! Do it!
The baby dragon jumps on Tuffnut's face and chews on his nose. Ruffnut laughs as Evergreen starts chewing on Tuffnut's leg for upsetting the new baby dragon.
Tuffnut: AH!! Get them off, get them off, get them off!
The baby dragon and Evergreen then jumps to Ruffnut, and started biting her.
Tuffnut: That is funny.
Meryl whistles, gaining the two baby dragons' attention, and pointed at the spot in front of her with a serious expression, the two baby dragons quickly listened to Meryl's silent command and went to her.
Fishlegs: Whoa..
Hiccup: ( to Tuffnut and Ruffnut: ) Come on, you guys, this is serious! We have to figure out what to do with him. ( Picks up the new baby dragon ) He's hurt.
