Chapter 13
.
"Sorry Zak, I didn't mean to drop the call earlier." I apologized ng makarating ako sa harap niya.
Ate Kisha went into the building first. She told me that we would just celebrate tomorrow morning.
"I understand, I'll get straight to the point I wanted to talk to you about the contract. About the rules, I changed some rules..." He trailed off, "People are still bothering me about the viral stolen photos the paparazzi took." He went on.
Napahawak ako sa chin ko at napaisip. I can't believe that people still talk about it it's been weeks since our supposed to be scandal was leaked.
"I want to hasten the process of our contract, but I want to hear your decision first." Nagulat ako sa sinabi niya, I already signed the contract from last time, he can decide without asking for my opinion.
"I agree, kailangan natin magsimula as soon as possible." Pagsang-ayon ko sa sinabi niya, and I looked at him.
Our eyes met. He was looking at me directly with his misty yet mysterious eyes.
"Let's go somewhere else. Someone might hear us." I added at napalinga-linga sa paligid.
We decided to talk in a nearby restaurant. We were in a V.I.P. room, maganda ang restaurant, it's called Taste of Haven. It's a Korean-style restaurant. Mas pinili naming i-order ang popular dish kaysa pumili pa since we are in a hurry.
"So... what about the rules?" I asked and used my hands as a support on my head.
Inilabas niya ang phone niya, he shared with me the edited copy of the said rule.
I read Rules 1 to 2 aloud. "Rule No. 1: Party A/B shall never do anything that shall taint party A/B's image. We must keep our image clean. No scandal is allowed..." I trailed off. It's indeed much better. "Rule No. 2: Both parties are prohibited to date nor see someone else, even though we're just pretending we must act like a real couple." Dugtong ko, I look him straight in the eye.
"Rule No. 3: There are boundaries on physical touch. We must not go overboard." He said full of authority with a stern look on his face.
I nodded and immediately looked down at my phone.
"Rule No. 4: No one shall know about the contract except (special person), if a lot of people know, this contract will be over. Tea spreads like wildfire." I read, and I must admit that this one is true, especially since there are so-called Marites everywhere.
Siya naman ang nagbasa ng kasunod na rule. "Rule No. 5: We must see each other once or twice a week. This is also a trick to make them believe we're seeing each other..." he trailed off and cleared his throat before reading the next rule. "Rule No. 6: Always remember: this is not real. Never get swayed by the moment. Remember that we're just faking this." Dugtong niya na nginitian ko lang.
"That's all?" I asked and checked the document that he shared.
"Yes, but if you want to add new rules, feel free to do so." He said and gestured na magtype ako o sabihin.
I was about to say something when a voice spoke.
"Good evening, Ma'am, Sir. Here are your orders. May I come in?" The waiter politely asked.
"Come in," I answered and turned my phone off.
He placed our orders on the table. We have Samgyeopsal. Samgyeopsal, a very chunky slice of meat it's then wrapped in lettuce or a sesame leaf with dipping sauces and accompaniments such as button mushrooms, green chili peppers, green onions, raw onions, and garlic, as well as kimchi. It smells so nice!
