Chapter 27

.

It's been over a week now since I cried my eyes out, and I poured all my frustration and exploding feelings over the phone, staring at the blue sky, blaming my mom and the people around me while talking to him. He remained quiet and lent me his ears to hear me the entire time. I still can't believe that all Dad Gustavo's treatment towards me since I was a kid had a damn reason. Pero hindi valid ang reason niya para ako ng ganun, because of him I've been questioning my worth, my effort, the love and care that I truly deserve, and the reason why my insecurities were just so damn high rather than my confidence.

The three days or less that I promised Ate Kisha didn't happen, I didn't grant it, dahil gulong-gulo ang isip ko sa mga pangyayari. I want to dig deeper to know more about the truth, yet I am also afraid of what truth might behold me if I dig deeper.

I took a deep breath. I looked outside, and I could now clearly see the destroyed garden. I can't believe that I didn't avenge my mom's garden, gustong-gusto niya talaga tangalin lahat ng trace ng mom ko sa mansion 'cause she even touched one of my mom's portraits hanging in the hallway.

"Are you ready?" I whispered, talking to myself.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror while gazing through my lavender V-neck halter dress, may mga lavender flower sa baba ng dress. My hair is styled in a ladder braid, there are lavender flower accessories pinned on it, I am also wearing a gold 24 carat, maliit lang ito and the design is in a lavender flower, the same goes for my bracelet. The theme of the wedding is colour pink, but I decided to go with purple, nasa mansion pa rin kami ngayon.

Light make up lang ang ginawa ng make-up artist sa'kin. When I finished taking a look at myself, I walked outside the powder room. Everyone was busy, and the maids kept running back and forth.

I stopped walking midway when I felt that someone was eyeing me, but I just shrugged it off and was about to continue walking when someone called me.

"Xochi." I heard a serious voice call me from behind.

I smiled forcefully, knowing who the person was and turned my back away to face him.

"Ohh, hi, Kuya." I greeted him with a half smile plastered on my face.

He looks so damn serious, nakasalubong ang makakapal niyang kilay, and I bet I know what he'll tell me.

"I know that you're against our dad getting married again..." he trailed off.

I just kept quiet. Ano naman kasi sasabihin ko? Well, I just effin found out that he isn't my dad.

"Hmm?" I titled my head as I hmmed with a tone of asking. Acting as if I don't know what he's pertaining to.

"Please, Xochi. Please, don't do anything that might ruin their wedding. This is a very special day for them, and you know that, " He told me as he averted his eyes, probably feeling guilty.

It somehow hurts because the person you care about more than anyone told you not to ruin this day, however... I can't blame him. Alam niya naman na ayaw kong magpakasal si dad simula pa lang.

I just nodded and smiled at him, hiding the pain. He sighed in relief before tapping my back and mouthed thank you as he left.

My smile faded as soon as his figure became smaller. Sinimulan ko ang paglakad patungo sa labas ng mansion.

When I stepped out of the mansion, a black Ford focus coupe-cabriolet was parked in front of the mansion.

"Good morning, Young Miss." He bowed down as he placed the hat he's wearing on his chest.
