Chapter 40

.

I woke up with fluffy eyes the next day, Ate Kisha apologized a million times when we woke up. She explained how she met me and how she saw me while she was on the way to M Entertainment. Nakakapagtaka nga na hindi siya kilala ni Zak as Tamora's older cousin. She explained that she wasn't that good at socialization at mas kilala siya bilang Cortez dahil sa iyon ang ginagamit niya, her mom's last name. It was even her first time going to M Entertainment to get Tamora's belongings that were left after she passed away.

Buong umaga ay nag-usap lang kami matapos kumain ng breakfast, it was a good thing that I don't have any schedules that day kundi ay papasok akong may sama ng loob. We just stopped talking when she heard my stomach growling.

"You're already five months pregnant na pala, ano?" I heard Ate Kisha ask while cooking in the kitchen. "We can know the baby's gender, kung gusto mo I can call or book an appointment with Dra. Jimenez?" She added.

I stopped from what I was doing when I heard what she said. I released a deep sigh.

"Y-Yeah, sure," I answered with hesitation.

I'm not even sure if I'm pregnant. For five months, you can't see or feel a bump if you place your palm on my stomach. I continued stretching my body.

"Is something wrong? You sound hesitant, are you okay?" She asked, and I stopped once again.

"D-Do you think I'm pregnant?" Tanong ko that made her stop flipping the chicken. She recovered when she smelled that the fish was starting to burn.

"You're kidding, right?" Natatawa nitong tanong sa akin.

But when she didn't hear my response, agaran siyang lumingon sa akin, and when she saw that I didn't look like I was joking, she still let out her waves of laughter that echoed throughout the room.

"You're pregnant, and I'm sure of it. We were together when we got your checkup kay Dra. Jimenez. The test came out positive, na buntis ka talaga." She said, smiling. Nakatingin siya sa akin, ibinaling niya rin kalaunan ang atensyon sa pagjajanda ng pagkain.

I gulped. Yes, she's right, but look at me right now?!

"Oo, tama ka pero what if Dra. Jimenez just swapped someone's test on mine. Kaya nagresult to positive...." I trailed off, umupo ako sa pagkakatayo at hinilamos ang kamay sa mukha , ut I stood up once again.

"J-Just look at me." I pointed at my stomach. "There's no bump, malayo man o malapit ay wala. Even if you place your palm here, you won't feel a bump." I frustratedly bit my lip, but instead of receiving a serious answer, what I got was waves of laughter.

"What's so funny about this?" I exclaimed with a raised eyebrow.

"S-Sorry." She apologized, trying to stop herself from laughing. "I just can't stop laughing. You see when Dra. Jimenez handed the test while you were so dazed from the result... I bet even worried na hindi mo narinig sinabi niya, which I thoight you did. Dra. Jimenez explained to me that your case is called a cryptic or hidden pregnancy." She informed me that made me speechless.

"So basically, you won't know firsthand that you're pregnant before 12 months or five months, kasi they ignore the symptoms sometimes kasi kala nila normal lang. But in your case, you did. That's why Dra. Jimenez was amazed." Mahabang lintaya nito. "You're pregnant, Xochi. So relax, don't stress up with those things." She softly said to me, rinig na rinig ko dahil kaming dalawa lang naman ang nasa apartment.

I bit my lip, and I couldn't contain the happiness inside me. Gusto kong magsitalon! After knowing that I'm really pregnant, that is just called a cryptic pregnancy, my happiness can't be contained.
