Chapter 16

"Can we stay longer?"

Nilingon niya ako mula sa pagkakatitig niya sa dagat. Halos kalahating oras na kaming tahimik lang na nakatambay dito habang nakaupo pa rin sa buhangin.

"Of course."

Nginitian ko siya bago umusog sa tabi niya. "Can I lean on your shoulder?" I asked softly.

I feel so sleepy and tired pero ayoko munang umuwi. I need this fresh air and the calming sound of nature and this person beside me that feels like a human sunset.

He did not answer me but he moved closer and put my head on his shoulder himself. He wrapped his arms on my shoulder and gave me some slow and soft taps. Inangat ko ang tingin ko sa kaniya and smiled at him again before leaning comfortably and closing my eyes.

I didn't know how I was able to sleep so soundly, despite having one of the worst nights of my life.

Nagising ako at nagulat ako nang makitang nasa kotse na kami. We're already at the mansion's garage at halos sunrise na.

I shifted my attention towards Vier and I saw him sleeping while his head was leaning against the door's window, as if he was watching me until he fell asleep. I didn't know how long I stared at him before I finally woke him up.

"Hey," he uttered as he opened his eyes.

I gave him a small smile. "Good morning. Why didn't you wake me up?"

"You were sleeping so soundly. And I don't mind taking care of you."

I don't know how, but my body immediately felt so awake as I digested what he just said. Why is he becoming so forward all of a sudden?

"Uh... Thank you for last night and 'til this dawn," I just said.

"Anything for you, Eia."

I bit my lip and just smiled a little. "Uhm, let's go?"

Lumabas na kami sa kotse at papasok pa lang kami sa loob ay natigilan ako sa tanong niya.

"Eia, do you want to have coffee?"

Nilingon ko siya. "I'd love to, but that's caffeine." I chuckled. "How can you sleep right after?" He's probably tired and sleepy.

"Oh, right." Natawa rin siya, pero nakita ko ang bahagyang pagkadismaya niya. "Alright, good mornight, then," sabi niya bago naglakad na ulit.

Bago pa siya makaakyat sa hagdan ay nagsalita ulit ako.

"Nah, let's have coffee."

I also didn't want to be alone. I just remembered na ako na lang ulit mag-isa sa kwarto. I cannot afford to have an early breakdown.
