Chapter 29: Was It Helpful?

Luke's POV:

I woke up fast from my nap. I felt excruciating pain surge threw me when I realized I had another jolt. Alex and Reggie looked over at me concern in their eyes. "You okay?" Reggie asked. "Ya just got hit pretty badly with one of those jolts" I said to them brushing it off. They nodded sadly. My mind wandered to the dream I had just had. Me and Y/n were singing and dancing a song.

After remembering it I quickly grabbed my music book and started to right it down word for word. I felt Alex and Reggies eyes on me until I was done. "Done!" I said aloud. They both looked at me confused. "With what?" Alex asked. I proceeded to explain the dream I had. Their expressions turned into a smirk. "So when are you going to tell her?" Alex asked. "Tell her what?" I said. "That you like her?" Reggie said. "Guys come on I'm a ghost" I said looking down sadly. Alex and Reggie stopped asking after that.

"Hey why don't we work on perfecting Edge Of Great" I suggested. "Sure" they both agreed. It had been about and hour of checking for any corrections and they were almost done. "Look we add the echoes during the chorus, then when Y/n comes in with the melody, its going to sound perfect" I said smiling. We hear a loud bang from outside, but as we turn around all we see is Willie. When he sees that we see him he starts to run away.

"Again, whats all that about?" Reggie asked. "I don't know" Alex said looking down. Alex poofed out the door to go and hopefully confront Willie while me and Reggie just started talking.

Alex's POV:

"Whats your problem?" I said after poofing in front of Willie which made him stop. "Its like your tracking me down just so you can keep running away" I said getting angrier. "I wish I could help man but I can't" Willie said looking a little frightened. "Wait!" I called to him as he started leaving he stopped again. "Thats not good enough" I said louder.

"I mean you've been acting weird ever since Caleb's club" Willie turned pale. "You know I thought we were having fun" I said started to feel saddened as well as angry. "We never should have met" Willie blurted out. I couldn't breathe it felt like my heart had just been broken pierced if you will. "Wow that hurt" is all I could manage to say.

"Hey I'm sorry Alex. I really am your a great guy. I gotta go" he said vanishing into thin air. I couldn't do anything I just stood there staring at where he left. I believe Luke and Reggie came out to get me because I hadn't come back in but honestly who could remember.

Luke's POV:

Me and Reggie had basically dragged Alex inside. He looked really sad and angry. We put him on the couch and I got him some water. "Alex you alright?" Reggie asked even though me and him had spied and heard the whole conversation. "Ya, ya why?" He asked not sounding like himself. "I know it's tough man people say you never forget your first ghost. Maybe thats true. But there will be others" Reggie said. I could see Alex's face soften a bit because of Reggies sense of humor.

"Yeah thanks Reg" Alex said a bit happier now. "Also Alex your a great drummer and a great friend okay I wouldn't let that stuff get in between you and what you love" Reggie added. This time Alex actually smiled. "I don't know man sonetimes a little fire can make things better on the stage" Reggie said then immediately turned toward me."Like you and Y/n" once he said this I started to blush profoundly. "Wha. . . What js that supposed to mean?" I finally say. "Come on everyone can see the way she looks at yoy when your on the stage. You guys ooze chemistry" Reggie said.

"You should never say "ooze" again, but ya, I agree" Alex said. "Ok no I have chemistry with everyone I sing with" I say. The guys give eachother the all knowing look. "Seriously watch uuhh" I went over and grabbed Reggies face. I believe I believe that we're just one dream away from who we're meant to be that we're standing on the edge of.... great. Reggie felt really uncomfortable during this I could tell.

"Wow" Reggie said staring at me. I kissed my two fingers then put them on his lips just being funny. "Ya I definitely see chemistry" Alex said sarcastically. Reggie cleared his throat rather loudly. "Girls am I right?" Reggie said. "Yeah" I agreed. "No" Alex said disagreeing. I heard the door open and before I could turn around I immediately knew who it was.

"Awww are my boys disagreeing?" Y/n said in a baby voice. "Nope" I said smiling stupidly as both her and Julie walked in. "Umm so uh. . . What are you doing here Y/n?" I asked in the most awkward way ever. "My grandparents said I could come here and rehearse" she said smiling. Then for some reason look abruptly away from me and glanced at Julie raising her eyebrows.

They both started whispering I heard like two words but that was it. After they were done they glanced back up. Y/n not even looking at me. "So let's rehearse: she said sounding a little sad.

Y/n's POV:

I immediately knew I had messed up when I looked deep into Luke's eyes. Julie noticed and of course she started whispering to me RIGHT INFRONT OF HIM. "I told you not to look into his eyes" she said sounding like a mom. "Sorry" I responded. "Here why not just don't look at him that seems easier" she said. "Fine" I turned my attention to them again without looking at Luke. "So let's rehearse" I said I could tell I sounded a bit sad.
