Victoria was unused to having such a quiet space for just her and then Beatrice together with nobody else. After all, it had only been a couple of months since Derek and Braeden had left Beacon Hills.

Tye had gone with them to travel around the world, Kit had gone back to New York to get his affairs in order and Victoria was making dinner for herself, Beatrice and whoever else might show up.

Somebody was walking in, the alarm was starting to blare out and Victoria sighed. She spun around and flung a lacrosse ball at the alarm with her approximation of strength from a human, which shut off the alarm and she smiled at the familiar scent.

Victoria smiled at the arms around her and she turned to see Liam who had the lacrosse ball in his hand, that she had thrown at the alarm earlier. "Lose something?" He asked and she was shaking her head, as she took the ball back and put it on the countertop.

"Two more weeks until summer vacation, I can't wait." Victoria said and Liam chuckled at the words. "I'm still scared of water, Liam, so you can't just throw me into a pool." She said and he nodded.

"I know. That's why we are starting with a lake. You coming?" Liam asked and Victoria looked at him like he was insane.

"I'm cooking dinner!" Victoria protested against immediately leaving and Liam was looking at her. "I'm not leaving dinner halfway cooked..."

"Which is why I'm cooking it. Go." Casey's phone spoke for her and she quickly was washing her hands, before she was shoving Victoria towards the door. "Go!" She insisted and Victoria groaned.

"Don't forget to let the sauce simmer for an extra ten minutes and don't you dare forget to stir the soup so that it doesn't..."

"Come on." Liam said as he was pulling Victoria out of the room and Victoria was shaking her head, as he was dragging her out of the room. "Race you to the lake?"

"I'm so going to win." Victoria said as they both took off running and the two of them were laughing as eventually, Victoria slowed down to almost a crawl, to let Liam catch up to her.

For now, they were at peace.

For now, the operative words were.

But this is Beacon Hills and the only question that is truly unanswerable for everyone is...

How long would it last?
