"4x11: A Promise To The Dead"

Victoria was getting up quietly and she looked over at Liam, who was still soundly asleep and she smiled. Her phone buzzed in her pocket and she opened it, as she looked at the message.

McCall: The Dead Pool is over. Tell Liam if you're tutoring him any time soon... If any tutoring is ever actually being done, of course.

Overprotective Lion: Screw off McCall, that is my kid that you're talking to.

McCall: Sorry Kit.

VHD: Thanks Dad.

Victoria smiled a little and Liam was watching her, as she turned to look at him with narrowed eyes. "How long have you been up?" She asked and he yawned loudly as he stretched his arms wide.

"Long enough to see that you're happy about something. What's different, what is going on? What happened?" Liam was spitting questions and Victoria simply was waiting, until the questions had now swiftly slowed down. "Sorry." He said.

"The Dead Pool is over, Stiles and Malia managed to stop it." Victoria explained as she was looking at him. "We slept through most of the day, Liam, it's basically time for us to go back to sleep." She said and when she checked the time, it was 7pm. "We slept through most of the day, that's crazy."

"Can you teach me how to fight?" Liam asked and she looked over at him now with raised eyebrows, visibly now stunned at the question. "Please, Tori? You have just been at this, a lot longer than I have." He said and she sighed, before she nodded slightly.

"Okay. Okay, sure." Victoria murmured quietly and he was looking at her. "You're really scared, aren't you?" She asked quietly and he nodded. "I'll teach you, Liam, but I'm not promising that you'll get it right away. I mean, a lot of this took me time, sometimes it was years to get these right."

"How do you bring out your claws?" Liam asked and Victoria chuckled, as she pulled up a desk chair and she sat on it.

"You just have to feel it. It's not something that you can force your body to do, all right? Just watch." She said and Victoria shut her eyes, as she brought her hand down and he laughed at the sight of her claws coming out and she smiled at him. "You try?" She said.

Liam brought his hand down, opening it quickly and there were no claws. "Goddamn it." He said as Victoria's claws shrunk and a moment later, she looked at him. "Let me guess, don't try to force it?" Liam asked as she half-smiled at him.

"Don't try to force it, Liam, on a full moon when it takes over... Your claws will come out of their own accord, until you find your anchor or your own method of control. Not every person is the same, Liam. And as you can clearly see, not every supernatural creature is the same either." Victoria was remarking casually as her tail was whipping back and forth.

"Why am I your anchor?" Liam asked unexpectedly and Victoria glanced up at him. "Why me?" He asked and she looked down at the floor.

"If I knew the answer to that Liam, I would have already told you. But... But, I do know one thing." Victoria said and Liam looked at her and Victoria's head tilted up to look him in the eyes. "If somebody's anchor dies, it's a pain like nothing else." She said and he was looking at her. "I am not going to leave you, Liam, to fight on your own." She said and he nodded a little. "Try to bring out your claws again." Victoria said and he sighed.

"I can't do it." Liam said after five consecutive failures and Victoria caught onto his wrist before he could hit the side table and he looked at her. "What the hell am I doing wrong?" He asked and she was shaking her head, before she sat down next to him on the bed. "How do I do this?" Liam asked.

"Shut your eyes." Victoria said and he looked at her, before he closed his eyes and she sighed. "Just breathe, Liam, focus on your feelings and on your thermoception, your sense of heat. Focus and breathe." She said and he opened his eyes.

"I can't do this. I can't focus, Tori, I can't do any of this..." Victoria leaned forward as she kissed him, rather effectively cutting off his words. Liam's eyes closed and when they both needed air, she was eventually moving away from him but she kept a hold of one of his hands.

"Try it again." Victoria encouraged and Liam's eyes were still closed, as he brought his hand down and Victoria grinned with a small gasp. "Liam, look." She said quietly as Liam opened his eyes and he saw to his stunned surprise, that his fingernails had turned into claws. "You did it." Victoria said and Liam was laughing in shock at the sight of them. "I told you." Victoria whispered as she kissed him on the cheek.

"You were right." Liam admitted quietly as he was looking down at her tail and Victoria sighed, curling it up behind her.

"I almost ripped Scott's heart out for touching my tail the first time. He caught it and yanked on it, he refused to let go the most recent time and my father, he damn near tore him to pieces." Victoria said and she was covering her tail with her jacket as she shook her head. "I'm going to go home."

"Oh come on Tori, can't you stay..."

"Not this time. See you at the game tomorrow." Victoria's voice trembled as she grabbed her stuff and she leapt out of Liam's window and he looked out of the window as she was already running away.

Both Victoria and Beatrice had skipped the lacrosse game at both Derek and the Sheriff Stilinski's requests to help them find Scott.

After Victoria had swiftly taken off running into the tunnels to follow the scents further, Beatrice was running the woods and eventually they met up in the middle, back at Derek's loft.

"Nothing. The trail went cold back awhile ago, in the water treatment plant. Did you have any luck?" Victoria asked and Beatrice was shaking her head. "God, damn it." She whispered and Beatrice hugged her gently.

"We'll find Scott and Kira." Beatrice said.

"But we're gonna need help." Derek noted and everyone looked over at Victoria, whose nod was clear.

"I'll call my dad." She murmured quietly as she grabbed for her phone as she dialed an all-too familiar phone number and she put it on speaker, as the phone rang.
