Chapter Nine

As Tsunade said, Naruto became more protective. He held Sasuke closer than he normally would. Whenever someone looked at her in a nonconsensual way, he would show his teeth.

"I never thought that Naruto would bag Sasuke like that." Kiba said while stretching. "What do you mean by that?" Sasuke made herself look bigger.

"OoOo. I'm really scared." "Kiba you should be." Naruto told him. Naruto mimicked Susano'o.

"Oh." "Yeah." Some random pervert walked over. "Hey good looking. How about you ditch these losers and I'll show you what a real man is." The man wrapped his arm around her.

Naruto looked over. "Don't. Touch. Her." Naruto said menacingly. He grabbed his arm. "M-my apologies, Naruto. I wasn't aware this beauty was yours. My mistake." The man ran away in fear.

Naruto licked his canines, which turned Sasuke on. "His change is scary, but I like it." Sasuke put her hand on Naruto's cheek. He placed his hand over hers.

Naruto closed his eyes to Sasuke's touch. Her touch was warm. It calmed Naruto. "Let's go. We should all hang out like we used to."

"Are you gonna go on another redemption trip or whatever?" Kiba asked while scratching his head.

"No. Very funny, Kiba." Sasuke, Kiba, and Naruto left to get everyone.

It was about 8:37 when everyone showed up. They were sitting in a park looking up at the stars.

"Tonight sure is beautiful." All the guys shrugged. "It's cool and all." "What do you mean by that?"

"It could be better." "How so?"

"There could be shooting stars. Stars that make up something. Like the little dipper or whatever. Stuff like that. Know what I'm saying?"

"Wow, Shika. That's actually surprising coming from you." "Yeah yeah what ever."

"Where's TenTen?" "Ah, she had some date with some hobo. Said she couldn't make it. He's probably gonna break her heart."

Naruto put his arms behind his head. "I wish I was at home right now." "Don't you wanna spend time with me?" "Yeah. But at home."

Sasuke gets what he meant, and Naruto means it. Sasuke scooted closer to Naruto. He wrapped his arm around her.

After about an hour or so of everyone catching up and just talking, it was time for everyone to go home.

"Take care, you two." "We will." Sasuke waved to Sakura. Naruto wrapped his arm around her waist as they walked home.

They cut through the alley they always went through. An Anbu member jumped down and landed like a superhero.

"This is where you fall, Uzumaki." The Anbu member pulled out a sword. Sasuke stepped forward but Naruto stopped her.

"It's been awhile. Let me get this one." Naruto walked up. "I'm right here. Fight me."

The Anbu member charged and slashed at Naruto. He caught the blade. The Anbu member tried to get his blade back, but he was pulled into Naruto's mind space.

"This guy... The nerve!" Kurama spoke. "What the hell!? How did I get here!?" "You're in Naruto's mind space. You dare challenge the strongest shinobi?"

Naruto appeared in front of the Anbu member. He eyes were red and had the slits of a reptile.

Naruto knocked the Anbu member unconscious and threw him against the wall.

Naruto and Sasuke continued their walk home. "It wasn't really a fight." "What was I supposed to do, kill him?"

"No but-" "Exactly." "You're an idiot, Uzumaki." "I know." Naruto smiled proudly.
